imacken Posted Tuesday at 08:54 AM Posted Tuesday at 08:54 AM I'm thinking of buying this map, but don't want to get stuck in a South Atlantic situation where after several years there are only a few Heatblur missions available. On that map, people said, don't worry the missions will gradually come after release. They didn't. So, can anyone with this map tell me what IA and SP missions there are already on this good looking map? Thanks. (Yes, I know there is ME and there are some User missions to choose from on SA, but that's not the point.) Searching in DCS's Mods/Aircraft folder shows there are currently 88 GermanyCW .miz missions that ED have added to their own modules in support of the new map. Most of these are simple Free Flight and similar missions with 2-4 mission per aircraft. Here's a couple of examples Mi-24P TF-51D Yak-52 1 i9 9900K @4.8GHz, 64GB DDR4, RTX4070 12GB, 1+2TB NVMe, 6+4TB HD, 4+1TB SSD, Winwing Orion 2 F-15EX Throttle + F-16EX Stick, TPR Pedals, TIR5, Win 11 Pro x64, Odyssey G93SC 5120X1440
imacken Posted Tuesday at 10:07 AM Author Posted Tuesday at 10:07 AM Thanks for that. Are there missions for popular aircraft like Hornet, Viper, F-4E, Tomcat etc.? I don't have any of your examples above (except the unused TF-51 obviously). "Out of the box" there are only GermanyCW missions for ED's own aircraft i.e. there are none for 3rd party aircraft - I assume these might be made/added by the 3rd party developers themselves. There are 3x missions for the Hornet and 10x missions for the Viper (note that not all of ED's aircraft have GermanyCW missions i.e. some WWII aircraft, etc.) Example of the currently included F-16C IA Missions i9 9900K @4.8GHz, 64GB DDR4, RTX4070 12GB, 1+2TB NVMe, 6+4TB HD, 4+1TB SSD, Winwing Orion 2 F-15EX Throttle + F-16EX Stick, TPR Pedals, TIR5, Win 11 Pro x64, Odyssey G93SC 5120X1440

In my experience, 3rd party devs don't tend to add much after release. I've never understood why the map devs don't construct more missions for their maps to make them more attractive to buyers. As mentioned above, South America is the perfect example. I don't know what the sales were like, but I have not used it since the first week I bought it just after release. Missions were promised, but never materialised. A complete waste of £60. It put me off buying any more maps. We're getting OT, so I'll stop now! 2 Intel i7 12700K · MSI Gaming X Trio RTX 4090 · ASUS ROG STRIX Z690-A Wi-Fi · MSI 32" MPG321UR QD · Samsung 970 500Gb M.2 NVMe · 2 x Samsung 850 Evo 1Tb · 2Tb HDD · 32Gb Corsair Vengance 3000MHz DDR4 · Windows 11 · Thrustmaster TPR Pedals · Tobii Eye Tracker 5 · Thrustmaster F/A-18 Hornet Grip · Virpil MongoosT-50CM3 Base · Virpil Throttle MT-50 CM3 · Virpil Alpha Prime Grip · Virpil Control Panel 2 · Thrustmaster F-16 MFDs · HTC Vive Pro 2 · Total Controls Multifunction Button Box

Because that's not really the map makers job. People would get really disappointed if their favourite module didn't get any missions, and how many missions per module? Let's say 10. That's more than 300 missions, which has to be serviced and kept up to date when something breaks in the core. Just read through the campaign DLC forums after an update. I do understand your frustration, and I was really disappointed and surprised when even Razbam, (yeah, I now know they only have their name on the map), didn't have a single mission for any of they're own modules. (The F-15E got some when it came). ORBX have actually provided five missions or so for Kola, but in their own site. Not through the game itself. Don't ask me why. But they did actively team up with BD and Reflected, so there are two campaigns available in the EShop. It's up to the module makers to provide missions, and I applaud HP for being best in class. I don't have a solution, but I don't think you're too worry about the Germany map. I assume it's already the most popular map, and will see tons of free and paid content in the future! Cheers! 1
imacken Posted Wednesday at 01:17 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 01:17 PM (edited) Yep, thanks for that. I accept that producing missions isn't the map makers job, however, it would clearly be in their business interest to make their map as attractive as possible to potential buyers, and half a dozen missions for the top 4 or 5 modules wouldn't be too onerous I would think. But unfortunately they just don't. Except, in a sense, for ORBX, like I wrote. It's a daunting task making good missions. What I would do, is looking at the best/most popular free mission makers out there. Give them the map for free, or ask ED to grant them Miles or whatever, to make some missions. Module makers could also do this. I believe that's the problem. Making good missions is hard! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk 1

They made it too hard to get. You don't need the app, and you don't need to log into the site. Hold on. EDIT: https://orbxdirect.com/product/orbx-kola-dcs-missions?sqid=5abf2aeebc807193f6e73ed0c6d311b5-1 Browse down to the different missions. Read until you find available here for each mission. (The link text doesn't look like a link). Then you get into the page for each mission. And then there should be a little more obvious as it actually says. "YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE MISSION PACK BY CLICKING HERE!" I do believe you need to do it per mission, or they might actually come in a pack. Hope this helps! Cheers!
