What are the, or where can i find, the control binds needed to fly the Coprsair, in particular, what axis/switches do I need to start and manage the engine?

Thanks,

Until someone puts a guide together, your best bet is to watch a couple of the corsair youtube videos already out there about startup, taxi & takeoff

@Semaphore - Have you checked the manual that is available on the menu screen? It lists the start-up and take-off procedures.

Also have you flown warbirds before? For controls you need the basics;

  • Pitch, Roll (usually done with HOTAs)
  • Throttle
  • Trim (nose up, down, left and right bank and rudder)
  • Gear up/down
  • Flaps up/down
  • Prop pitch up and down
  • Mixture +/-
  • Prop Governor

I have found a lot of the start-up stuff can be done by clicking on the very nice cockpit, eg canopy open/close, wing fold and lock and does not need mapping

Once you have these set-up when happy you can move on to the nice extras, guns, rockets and bombs, hook for carrier landing.

Only had a Quick Look so far but have noticed a few missing binds such as master arm safe. You can bind arm but not safe. Nice to not have to use the mouse when you have the buttons

Is prop governor the same as propeller RPM?

There is a propeller RPM +- bind in none axis, but in axis only the Prop Governor

Thanks,

Its all pretty simple and straight forward, as for any other aircraft. Use search in top left corner to find specific control.

For the start bind the following:

pitch,

roll,

rudder,

throttle,

brakes (both, and separated, for turning on the ground) ,

flaps (up, down)

gears (up, down)

trim (there are all 3 types, roll, pitch and yaw),

gun trigger

weapon release (for drop bombs)

rocket fire

The rest you can simply access with a mouse click around the cockpit. And btw, check all the button and switches arounnd the cockpit, to see what all the aircraft offers (infront of you, and on both sides), and try to memorize them.

I don't know if it's me but I can't bind a control to remove the pilot body. When I start with a new plane I prefer without a pilot body.

I haven't had a chance to look yet, but that may be in the General UI drop down tab. Usually it is RSHIFT P.

Cheers!

That's odd, I did not have a pilot body when I was flying last night? Are you in VR? I use a flat screen.

Is it a setting maybe in the Specials section, I have not looked yet, but @Scotch75 is correct with Right Shift and P

Yes, under General in the drop-down, it's called "Pilot Body". Just assign a keyboard combo.
Cheers!

Hi all, Do anyone know how to map the M Buttom on top of the throttle stick, or to what correspond?. NOT THE RED M. The Black one on, repeat, top of the throttle stick.

I did bindings for all the weapons systems, but none of them work. Same with lights. The only one that works for me is master arm.  Gun charges, gun selector, rocket switches and bomb switches do not respond to bindings.

Did the Corsair not have a generator, or is it just perpetually hot wired to the ON condition?? I am absolutely positive that the Corsair had a pilot seat with a vertical adjustment and I am very surprised that this has been left out. The very important engine instrument cluster in the lower right hand corner of the instrument panel is exceptionally hard to see. Being able to lower the seat a few inches might help considerably and I'm pretty sure that the seat was in its highest position for landing and takeoffs then lowered for normal flight operations. Surprised that there aren't key bindings for these items.

No real pilot removes his hand from the control stick to use a mouse to click switches/dials in the cockpit. Right hand on the stick, left hand to select things in the cockpit. Since I can't use a mouse left handed (I'm very dominately right handed except for two things, fishing and tossing items a short distance) I prefer keybinds to having to let go of the stick.

sadly the "show pilot body" can be bind only with the keyboard on this plane and as playing in VR I don't use my keyboard, only my button boxes. Hope they will fix it as I can normaly bind this option on any button with others planes.

JoyToKey always helps me achieve things like that, if I got problems.

Joy2key is good, I used to use it, but I like RSMapper better. I moved away from TARGET when I started mixing up my controllers, TM AVA/Hornet stick, Viper Panel, and TPRs. WW Super Taurus (legacy version) WW PTO2, BlackHog A, K51 trim box, Onyour12 Master Arm Panel. It sees your controllers better and shows you the switches and buttons on each controller. You get Push, release, and TEMPO commands and Chain Event programming. They call it sequence but it's Chain. I have seperate profiles for DCS birds, and a seperate "File" program for IL2 programming. Check it out, I'm sure you will like it better. No vjoy or hidhide required.

Is VOIP the only comm keybind capability when flying multiplayer with the Corsair?  SRS doesn't seem to work when in the 3D world/mission itself.  It seems to work up until entering the actual mission.  Any ideas?  I'm on the latest DCS and SRS releases.  Thanks!

The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.

when you set a button to master arm it is in fact a toggle. So you can switch on/off with the same bind.
