Not receiving upgrade notification in DCS

Hello,

For some reason I am not able to upgrade to the latest version, I normally get a upgrade notification when starting DCS I am still on 2.9.16.10973 MT and I believe DCS 2.9.17.11733 is the latest version.

I have a shortcut that only checks for updates and does not start DCS afterwards:

 

Target: (your path to the DCS_updater.exe)

"D:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\DCS_updater.exe" update

Start in: (your path to the bin folder)

"D:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin"

 

That might not be a solution for the issue but it helps sorting out things more quickly.

Go to the Start Menu in Windows. Under Eagle Dynamics, select “Update DCS World”

DCS_updater.exe checks for updates and launches DCS after.

DCS.exe just runs the current version. OP probably has the shorcut to this file.

I don't have those start menu entries anymore due to migration to new PCs. Is there a way to recreate those entries automatically (i.e. not makind those links "manually")?

I believe only the DCS installer would do that "automatically" for you.

If you run a repair, (which also should have its own shortcut), you can tick a checkbox to recreate shortcuts. Not sure if it works though.
