av8orDave Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Any Corsair nerds know why the preferred fuel tank selection for takeoff and landing is the reserve tank rather than the main?
JesseJames38 Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Because the reserve draws from the bottom of the tank. More fuel pressure by weight. If the fuel level is low in the tank less likely to run out of fuel on landing or takeoff depending on attitude of the aircraft. 2 3
Super Wabbit Posted Monday at 07:33 PM Posted Monday at 07:33 PM Is this why the engine shuts off when the Main Tank Fuel level drops below 50 gallons?

Nealius Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Would the engine shut off with reserve selected and main below 50gal as well?
Sarge55 Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Pretty sure I saw there was a fuel pump for these kind of fuel situations. Doesn’t it work? I’ll have to check, thanks for pointing it out.
