ia_pro1691 Posted July 13 Posted July 13 I'm hoping this is still due to the work in progress nature of the map, but I'm having a hard time getting ground units to travel along any of the roadways on the islands. First, it is requiring many more waypoints to be placed as anytime a road crosses a railroad or a creek with no bridge, the logic can't follow and find the route without having a waypoint on either side of the crossing railroad or creek pretty close together. Second, even once you find a suitable path, most of the time in game the vehicles do not start moving and just shut off and stay parked. In the screenshots below you can see the route I created from Garapan to the Isley airfield and the need for two close waypoints to cross road obstacles. Yet once you launch the mission, the trucks (4 vehicle convoy) just sit at the start and do not move. DCS VFA-41 Black Aces
Gunfreak Posted July 13 Posted July 13 I too have noticed this. i7 13700k @5.2ghz, GTX 5090 OC, 128Gig ram 4800mhz DDR5, M2 drive.
Nealius Posted July 14 Posted July 14 I was about to post this as well. Railroad crossings completely break AI unit pathfinding.
waterman Posted July 14 Posted July 14 (edited) I just did a quick test. If you set a simple route A to B that crosses a railway line the vehicle will not proceed the path is broken. This method works ok - So Every time the route crosses a railway line set a waypoint on the other side of railway line to offroad then set other waypoints to onroad untill another railway line needs crossing. Also advanced waypoint HOLDs and LateActivation will work ok but will not work if you do not set waypoints as above. See attached road test works ok.miz 1. You have a viewing vehicle. 2. Mission starts with a 10 seconds LateActivation (visable before activation) of a 5 vehicle convoy. 3. Convoy proceeds and stops before railway line Halts for 10 seconds ( Need to Watchout for my sugar trains ). Dont worry my trains are not in this demo ! 4. Then the convoy crosses the railway line and does the same at the next crossing. 5. then continues. Hope this helped you ? road test works ok.miz Edited July 14 by waterman 1
