Hi all.

In the F4U-1D manual: 2.1.6. LANDING ON A CARRIER it is written:

Do not attempt a carrier landing with more than 50% internal fuel or any external load.

My question is: How to dump fuel before landing on carrier?

Fly around and burn it off. There was no provision for in-flight fuel dumping on Corsair (nor on any other WWII fighter I think).

There's actually a fuel pump under the left foot rail.  It's used to drain the fuel out of the system, but it's strictly for ground crew use.
A door covers the exit hole.
