JG14_Smil Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 I can't believe how much I am looking forward to manning a watch over that conning tower :)
EtherealN Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 (edited) This is going to be awesome. :) I hope they expand what they did with the Uboat Missions expansion and give us more wolfpacking and more co-operation with air assets. And AAA gunners that aren't God. But it's nice to know that the series sold well enough for them to put some effort into a new installment - now we just need a good simulation of battleship combat. I want to try my hand at the Battle of Jutland in WW1. :D But I can see myself wasting way too much time on SE5. Good memories in the more terrified sense of sitting in shallow waters for two hours constantly dodging depth charges from Japanese destroyers. Was a real treat to sit there at the sonar station and time and again come to that horrible realization, pause for a second, and do the ingame equivalent of shouting "oh crap... FLANK SPEED 30 DEGREES TO PORT NOW!" asparagin Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Interview with developer Dan Dimitrescu: The change on going to FPS camera, crew interactions and RPG elements, I find daring, but let's face it: better then just updating graphics. I'm very curious how this concept will work. And yes: March 2010 it is. asparagin Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 While waiting for sh5, I installed sh4 (UBM) mainly because I found a very nice and handy mod for the german uboats: This is a mod used for sh3 an also implemented for sh4. With that wheel (actually historical accurate) you can get all the data needed for your shot, this reduces the estimation drastically. I remember for sh3 I did all this calculations by myself, but this is luxury! here also a thread from subsim on the theme: for sh3 http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=682671&postcount=207 for sh4 http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=135184 Spoiler AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, MSI MEG X570 UNIFY (AM4, AMD X570, ATX), Noctua NH-DH14, EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti XC3 ULTRA, Seasonic Focus PX (850W), Kingston HyperX 240GB, Samsung 970 EVO Plus (1000GB, M.2 2280), 32GB G.Skill Trident Z Neo DDR4-3600 DIMM CL16, Cooler Master 932 HAF, Samsung Odyssey G5; 34", Win 10 X64 Pro, Track IR, TM Warthog, TM MFDs, Saitek Pro Flight Rudders
