It works great horizontally, but vertically only reacts to the angle between your plane and the target in vertical space (not actual gimbal limit, your own nose angle has no effect). I am sure ED is aware of this? I agree. The antenna vertical angle component shown on your Hud is what is in relation to your aircraft currently. For example if your nose down from your target, but at the same altitude the diamond will be shown at level with your crosshairs, even though the gimbal for the antenna should be pointing up, since your nose down from it, and thus be above your crosshairs Mig29 vertical anttena bug.trk 38 minutes ago, NineLine said: We will need a track and references to support the information you are basing your claims on. I would like to have these questions answered, because these are the questions that are really important! What is the logic behind the RADAR alignment indicator being displayed in horizontal alignment with the nose of the aircraft, while the vertical alignment is displayed level with the altitude? What could be the reason for this? If the RADAR antenna indicator is actually supposed to show the alignment of the antenna with the object, the current vertical display would of course be incorrect. It doesn't make sense for that reason alone, as the pilot needs to be able to see when the RADAR will lose contact due to the angle to the object. This is currently not possible vertically. So what is the purpose of this cursor? If the answer is: “To be able to recognize in time when the tracked object will leave the maximum gimbal range!”, then the current display in the vertical range is >>incorrect<<! To recognize this, all it takes is simple logic, and nothing else!
