do you guys have the same bios version and chipset drivers installed?

Since his wife's system is Intel based, and his AMD-based, that's doubtful 😉

Hey @SpecteRED I believe I'm having the sime type of issue. I have a 9088x3D on a MSI Tomahawk x870e motherboard. (I'm still running my old trusted 3080ti, and only play in 1440p trackIR). Ironically, in June's update it went away and performance was solid, but that only lasted to aug or july, I'm not sure. I can lower the settings, I can do everything, but I still get those slowdowns and frame time spikes. Using Task manager I am now very confident every time I got a spike, I have a small read spike in my DCS installation SSD. And empirically, it seems to get much worse on heavier terrains, such as afghanistan (although, now, with the uprezzed textures, Caucasus is also giving me a lot more problems). So I am suspecting something is wrong on the terrain loading/cache. I believe ED was working on a new terrain engine, so it begs the question... Still, this is a pain and has been keeping me from enjoying DCS for some time now. Can you check to see if the spikes come with an SSD read surge as well?

Unfortunately both, @MAXsenna.

you definitely have a different problem, at the moment I see strong lags only when the player disconnects from the server

I recommend that you use LatencyMon to localize the driver that slows down the system the most. This is how I noticed that my built-in network card was having significant problems (I tried both new and old drivers). I have now installed an external network card, but now I see severe delays in the Audio Driver that the internal sound card uses.

I found a problem that looks like a conflict of my internal audio device in the motherboard. would you be able to tell which motherboards you are using and not encounter such lags (lag during player disconnection from the server)

Have you tried to disable the audio devices not in use, and check if that solves it?
Can't really fathom why it only would be a problem in MP though.

yes, disabling audio devices completely solves the problem, but this is not an option for me. I have all the audio ports busy (and even on my external Focurite sound card). It looks like the audio driver gets additional DPC pressure during network events. On the X870, Gigabyte has broken IRQ routing for Realtek and LAN.

How did you find out this was your issue? Did you use latency mon or something to determine this?

It being down to audio driver issues would be interesting.

I have seen some users report disabling audio in device manager fixed some freezing issues previously. They were using a Realtek ALC1200.

I believe Helldivers 2 recently had stutter issues after updating their wwise audio as well. Windows has always been finnicky with audio stuff.

yes, I used LatencyMon to search for the problematic driver.
I saw that you also had something similar, do you also have an ALC1200?

I'm thinking of considering a motherboard with a Realtek ALC4080.

Yup, I also have an ALC1200 and also experience stutters when players join/disconnect/reslot. However in my experience this has only ever happened on servers using non-dynamic slots, and only when that server is typically experiencing higher load. But it's never been 100% consistent and I have barely been playing for the last 6+ months.

I'd be very surprised if it is a problem on the user side (or user side hardware even) rather than something server side or inherent to the game, but with DCS all kinds of weird jank and performance quirks are possible.

Your issue may have a completely different cause. Drop a DCS log file.

Alright, my bad. Re-reading the topic, it sure looks like a different issue than what I was having. The SSD spikes led me to believe in some file corruption (even though verifying integrity of the install wasn't giving me anything weird), and having the time to actually re-download the whole 1.3 TB of the game actually fixed it. I hope you find the cause for your multiplayer issue, @SpecteRED. The only thing I can offer is, if you have the time and bandwidth to try deleting the game and reinstalling, there is a small chance it gets solved like mine. Sometimes technology is just like that USB cable that you have to flip 2 times to connect...

As a result, I tried 3 different motherboards (Asus B650, MSI X870, Gigabyte X870). And the problem was observed at all - statters when the player exits the server. There are also statters, but I couldn't locate their origin. I tested it on servers with dynamic slots (4YA).

If I turn off all audio devices in the device manager, the problem disappears (fps became super stable). If I turn on any audio device (for example, only the built-in sound card or only an external one), then the problem appears.

hello good people,

I came across this post in search fon an answer as it happens I also own a 9800X3D and a TrackIR and saddly have this annoying stutters when panning the view as well, I minimized the stutters or at least the perception ot them with 50 smooth ad speed 2 within TrackIr software and 120 frames cap, but still they are there not that much but they are.

I've been after this issue for months so you can imagine I tried almos everything, BIOS, in-game, global, monitor, windows settings, disabling devices and services, excluding from antivirus, performance analytics software (LatencyMon, Afterburner, HWiNFO, PresentMon), bechmarking... you name it, I probably did it. My PC seem to be alright but I have the stuttering, it also happens when using mouse for apnning BTW, but I have a crappy one so...

I also tried MSFS, they are there, even worse I would say, IL2 not that much but still a little.

I occurred to me that although DCS recorded tracks are of almost no use, they do record every input from the player, even the jittery ones.

Can someone who does not have this problem and have TrackIr or VR, record a 3 minutes track flying low level over a forest or medium size town and panning and share it here with me so I can definitively discard my other components as having a problem, I own the P51, Bf109 and the Normandy map only besides the stock ones, just in case.

thanks,

You might want to raise your own post vs. reusing this one as it sounds like you have a different unrelated issue than this post. Replicate the issue and then attach your DCS log file to that post.

I guess it pretty much does, same processor, using trackir, stuttering... do not want to open a new conversation so someone else will suggest me to stick to a related existing post. I'll wait a bit, if no help I will follow your advise, thanks

I would focus on this.

Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. Monitors: LG 27GL850-B27 2560x1440 + Samsung SyncMaster 2443 1920x1200, HOTAS: Warthog with Virpil WarBRD base, MFG Crosswind pedals, TrackIR4, Rift-S, Elgato Streamdeck XL.

Personal Wish List: A6 Intruder, Vietnam theater, decent ATC module, better VR performance!

I did, but I don't have any ideas what to change anymore. I tried 3 built-in sound cards and 2 external sound cards - the result is the same. I also tried different Windows settings and different Windows builds (on these outputs I will try to test on Windows 10). Today I reinstalled windows 11 25h2 again - it didn't help. I've tried default drivers from Windows and tried drivers from motherboards.

Just to be sure. You both have checked your mouse polling rate? Since none of you realy reacted on DrShaws post.

I tried changing the mouse polling rate, but it didn't help
