Multi Thread question

So a while back ED said they were removing single thread, but there is still a bin folder & a bin-MT folder. Do they both launch the same version of the game?

 

Personally think they should drop one of these folders, if they do launch the same version, as its unnecessarily confusing

Yes they are identical exe's.  They intend to remove the bin-MT folder at some point, but removing it would inevitably cause all kinds of grief due to people with shortcuts pointing at whichever folder they removed freaking out that their DCS no longer works.  They seem to be dragging their feet a bit to minimize the number of people still using the bin-MT folder.

Yup, ED will clean it up eventually.

For the steam users, the MT launch option was removed a while ago even the bin-mt directory is still remained.

How on earth will these people ever be able to go to the bin file, right click the exe and select create shortcut and/or pin to start. Blasphemy  ..Well i guess at least they do the same thing. Thanks for confirming

You obviously have never worked in IT support. You'd be amazed.  
The easiest way is really starting DCS, (correct exe), right clicking DCS on the Taskbar once started, and select pin to Taskbar if you use it often, or just press LWin and type DCS.

Do not remove any folders from dcs, 

you can stop using the bin-mt folder and use the bin folder, but it is not a good idea to remove anything. 

When the team are ready we will patch it out, I do not know when that will be yet however.

they should create the dcs.exe that opens when clicked from shortcut that says "WRONG EXE STUPID; USE BIN FOLDER"

Ive asked the team to up the priority on removing the old mt-bin folder.

No point. It will just be back during the next update. Just forget about it and let the Updater remove it when the time comes.
