Thank you very much!

We are discussing spots in Hungary and Romania with the team. We will update the list of airfields shortly.

That is amazing to hear! If the team ever needs more in depth help with the Romanian bases, I can help with references and other stuff that may be needed! Can't wait to see this map come to life!

I ask for "LIPX Verona Villafranca" as it was very important airport during 1993-1999 operations and base for the 3rd Wing of the Italian Air Force. I know it is located on the "low fidelity zone" but i highly suggest you to consider it for the future, maybe even after EA.

We'd humbly like to ask to see Csákvár Airfield(Hungary) being added to the map.
We're even with with it being an inactive airport(just like Kutaisi Int. or Kuboleti Airport in the DCS: Caucasus map)!😁

Coordinates: 47°21'10.4"N 18°25'45.9"E
Default role: Inactive / Reserve Airfield

csakvar.jpg

Historical context:
In the 1990s, many Hungarian and former Warsaw Pact airfields were kept in reserve status — not officially closed but no longer maintained for active service. Csákvár fits perfectly into that historical pattern.

1991-2001:

It was a strategic fallback airfield during the Yugoslav Wars (1991–1999), when Hungary maintained readiness along its southern borders. A potential NATO staging or logistics field in later years, as regional tensions and peacekeeping operations grew in the Balkans.

It was a training site for light aircraft and reserve units, reflecting real use of small Eastern European airbases.
A partially abandoned but recognizable military airfield, no longer in full service but still visible and usable for emergency landings, helicopter operations, or as a mission background.

Possible future in-game use:

  • Adds authenticity and realism to the outer map area.

  • Can be featured in cutscenes or ambient missions (e.g., emergency landing site, secret meeting, rescue).

  • Functions as a backup base for missions that take place near the map’s edge.

  • Perfect as a VFR navigation point for low-level or reconnaissance flights.

  • Ideal for aerobatic or cinematic flyovers, or practice.

+It's our aerobatic display team's home airbase😁

Just like how many others mentioned.

Having Hungarian bases would be really amazing, and most likely the one and only oportunity we will ever have having any Hungarian AB options in DCS.
Giving home to our beloved MiG-29 at Kecskemét AB in DCS would be something all Hungarians would wish for.

(Just a few important ones in a quick list: Kecskemét, Taszár, Szolnok, Csákvár, Pápa,)

Although not as frequently as the Italian bases but two airbases in Hungary were also involved.
TASZAR Airbase was busy as a logistic hub receiving many transport aircraft. Also reconnaissance operations with USAF Predators operating from the base.
KECSKEMET Airbase was doing daily CAP operations with MiG-29 aircraft.

Refreshing the list of all main and medium airports available in the Balkan region:

airports-list1.jpg

In Purple color are the new ones, still not included yet, which would still make sense to maybe include to the Balkan map.

Missing is Sombor airport as well as Lisičiji Jarak

I watched the Belgrade promo picture hou posted. Something is off with it, possibly your elevation map. Beograđanka building has tower and base. I do not think base is visible from that angle. Can you provide the coordinate of your camera?

Sombor added, Lisičji Jarak is more like a sportski aerodrom, so I don't think it fits into here.

Was used by military, more in 50-60, but aside from it's sport role nowadays it was an auxiliary airport.

@OnReTech Request for:
Ancona Airport  (Falconara Marittima - Raffaello Sanzio)

Ancona served as a C-130 crucial logistical hub during humanitarian missions like the airlift to Sarajevo. No fighter squadron took off from there, however was a major staging and departure point for US and UN C-130 for many years during the conflict.

It is a small but full of character airstrip, adjacent to an oil refinery with a beautiful mountain (Mount Conero) in its proximity. It would be of both great historical value, as well as beneficial for gameplay purposes, giving that the latest DCS module is indeed the C-130 Hercules.

With Ancona airport serving as key hub for the glorious C130, I think adding this airport to the map should be be unmissable (Over the years it has also been used by Tornado squadrons, PAN -Frecce Tricolori-, Apache squadron etc)

Good news to have a Balkan map arriveing in DCS. Wish Timisoara AB and Caransebes AB from Romania to be included in the list of airfields that will be available on the map. Campia Truzii AB would also be perfect to have. Hope the developrs will model this airfileds.

I don't see Pula mentioned anywhere, yes I know it'll be included, but if anyone needs high detail reference material, I am available as I live there and am well connected to the aviation community, including some ex-military guys from the 90s war.

Can't wait!
