DCS series, no Air to Air?

I'll bet it'll be a Russian fighter. Su-27, MiG-29, maybe even a BiS or something older. ED might want to get a more advanced radar model and A2A AI worked out before they move on to more technical aircraft like an F-16/15E/18.

 

It´s great to see those little steps ED take every release

I see a bright future in DCS, the problem is i am too impatient.

The next module will be a multipurpose fighter. And it will be not Russian aircraft. It will be possible F18. Developers already do new model of American aircraft carrier CVN-70 Vinson.

Now did the inclusion of the Kuznetsov mean that there are russian carrier planes flyable in DCS? Does eating cabbage today mean the world is going to end tomorrow due to a massive onset of gas? :)

No, I'm saying the Kuz was implemented to support carrier-based-operations in LO.

 

Nothing more, nothing less.

 

 

However, that doesn't change the fact that taking the implementation of the CVN-70 for DCS as a certain sign for an upcoming F/A-18-Module is as reasonable as telling the future from reading in cow-dung. :smilewink:

How many you know multipurpose fighters which have the documentation not confidential? Only F16 and F18. On sukhoi.ru it is written that next plane will be not F16. Do conclusions.

Actually that thread is the same as this here.

 

There are people demanding multipurpose-fighters instead of "boring" aircraft like the KA-50 and the A-10C, which are not suited for player-vs-player and therefore obviously not profitable compared to most wanted planes like the F-16 and the F-18.

 

Only official statements are, that upcoming planes will not necessarily be in player-vs-player config (which speaks against F-16 / F-18 ), that cooperative multiplayer like in 2-seater Apache will possibly promote teamplay even more and that the limited scale but more intense and realistic scenarios will be prefered. (Again not speaking for F-16 and F-18, just speaking for adding more models for a more dense battlefield feeling).

 

But to be honest, these "official statements" are rather personal opinions.

 

To my understanding neither the F-16 nor the F-18 have been definitely denied or agreed upon in this thread.

The 16 is at least in the list, not so the 18. So as long as the pope is not posing nude for a promiscuous homosexual awareness campaign while eating turkish honey on a buffet for diabetic Kurds, it is safe to say the 18 is not going to be in the game during the next 10 years.

What happened to the British aircraft? I know I am not alone in thinking that some of the cold war era jets would be brilliant. Tornado GR1, Harrier GR3, Sea Harrier, and my most wanted - the BUCCANEER!!!! All fantastic aircrraft, and all, with the possible exeption of the Tornado would have info available.

The F-15E will not make a decent anything fighter until you strip all the A2G equipment off it. Finally, you are also likely wrong about the future of air warfare. More and more countries are buying more advanced aircraft now; they'll have datalinks, they'll have ARH.

 

I thought the F-15E also a had a load of strengthening (and weight) added to handle the low level flight ... you can't drop that!

 

F-15Es could go A2A in the airforces that have purchsed them and don't have a dedicated A2A bird - F-15S/K I think are based on the E.
