Right now I'm really struggling with binding it in such a way that the plane doesn't fall over backwards when I zero my throttles. I've a Honeycomb Bravo throttle, which works like this: * There's an axis from 0-100, with no detent in between. * There's a detent at 0. * Below 0, there's no axis, but button signals are sent (e.g. for reverse thrust). So I want to bind reverse thrust in the following way: * 0-100: No reverse thrust, normal forward thrust. * Button signal sent: 100% reverse thrust. Is such a binding possible? I tried to find bindings to activate reverse thrust, but can't find anything. Thanks! 3
Indianajon Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago You need to advance the throttle to 100 and back to 0 once you have done that it will pull back into the reverse thrust. You can do it before you turn the engines on. I was having the same issue and realised this is how I fixed it

But because some do not have detens for that, it would solve some troubles. I'm using my 4 levers on the Virpil SharKa-50 and they do not have detents. Indianajon Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago I found that it starts to shake and there is a change in sound once you pass the idle position into the reverse thrust. I don't have a detent either and have found it fairly intuitive after a little playing around.

shagrat Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Almost every other heavy airliner with thrust reverser in "that civilian Flightsimulations" uses the concept, of an option to use the normal throttle axis, from 0-100% and in the 0% position you press (and usually hold) a "Reverse Thrust Button", now you can use the full 0-100% to control reverse thrust. Is it realistic, like in the real aircraft? No. Does it make sense with the equipment we have in flight sims? Hell yeah! This should at least be an option. So those in this thread are aware, we went through a lot of discussion internally as the development progressed on how we would do this. We settled on the two options in there presently, and we were waiting to see where the consensus was before making more changes. The suggestions have been noted, we are looking into it. FWIW I'm a warhog user, I don't use auto reverse (I don't find it good for me, just how I fly). I just use the engine diagnostics page to keep myself out of ground range in flight, when at low power. Since yesterday, I also made myself a physical 'detent' for my warthog, which so far works well. It only took a few minutes to fashion one from a plastic shelf stud, dropped in to the slot under the middle detent cover. Cheers

I'm not going to bother with using reverse until some sort of solution can be found. DCS's control UI is one of the best, however, users are almost always overloaded on keys required unless multiple modifiers are used, to which such modifiers then take up available key presses. This sim is simply not designed to have reverse thrust modeled.

Cheers I can make it work quite well with the auto reverse and my Virpil CM3 throttle; I use the finger-lift detent at the bottom end of the range and I can tweak that in "ground mode" of the auto-reverse function to kick in right at the detent. Perhaps for users with similar setups, it would be useful to have the same slider available for the airborne range too, so that we can set it to stop at the bottom detent and not have to use the finger-lifts to get into flight idle while airborne. A nice to have though, not a need to have, it works quite well as it is.
