GGTharos Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 It's downright bogus, actually, since they are still listing G2I... And no, it isn't. You may want to look a little closer to this forum, if anything. ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
hannibal Posted October 30, 2009 Author Posted October 30, 2009 (edited) alright.. thanks for the reply. GG.. how things? i havent flew in almost a month im dying to get new hardware, but there is no point at this time. i like to get these new SSD's for arma2 and the flight sims, but want to see what the A-10C specs and BFBC2 specs require. I cant get any new GFX cards due to the potential release of new nvidia cards.. there hasnt been any descent games for the PC, lately, i have been on Battlefield Bad Comapny for the XBOX 360 (only because my close friends are on it) i wish i could have stuck to lockon, but i find myself flying by myself, due to the inconsistant online base.. I am in East Coast, seems like the majority of pilots form UK, EU... along with Black shark) i might just get that second 7" LCD, to see if black shark can handle 4 screens (2 montiros for camera view, 1x 7"LCD for ABRIS, and 1x 7"LCD for shkval) to prepare for the A-10C setup for the MFD's functionality...but again, no sense of doing it because i dont have the graphic hardware to run it, let alone win7 limitations of multi screen) i have been just playing XBOX, and daydreaming about the release of the A-10C, BFBC2, and a possiblity of setting up another PC station so that i can have a wingman/co-pilot gunner).. I really hope that the PC gaming world will pickup with this release of Windows 7, may it get through the initial install base and mainstream AND WHAT DOES listing G2I MEAN? ...are you saying it is supposed to be XSI? thanks... joey45 Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 They are not even close. Give about 2 more years... for a beta. yes it should be XSI. go to the Fighter Ops forum for more info. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. SUBS17 Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 The latest on FO: Flight Model test build video -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As many of you are aware a short video, originally intended for internal use, was recently released to Area 51 showing the Flight Model test build. We were frankly blown away by how well that video was received by Area 51 members. Being originally designed to be for internal use only, it was fairly raw, but does give a good demonstration of how the flight model behaves. Based on the strength of this feedback, we have decided we will make a cut down version of this video available for the general forum in the near future. For any Area 51 members who have not yet seen the video, make sure you check the Area 51 forum for details and join in on the discussion. Thanks guys, Julian. A second video has been released to Area 51. This includes the 3d cockpit, showing both front seat and back seat, TrackIR and some of the other effects we are testing. Hearing this I wish I was an Area51 member again but I'll wait until they finish it. [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]
hannibal Posted October 30, 2009 Author Posted October 30, 2009 its cool.. by the time this sim is released, hopefully ill have two PC stations setup for flight sims... find me on steam! username: Hannibal_A101A http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197969447179
element1108 Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 I've seen the video (two of them) one with just a temp full screen HUD and joystick inicators (showing in real time joystick and throttle inputs) they just recently dropped a second video with a non textureed t38 cockpit with tracker ir supported. The flight model looks outstanding, ground was textureless but had mountains etc. Nice to see they're making progress. You can see the difference how the plane handles at high speeds vs low speeds.
GGTharos Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 You could see that with the Su-25T ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
EtherealN Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 You can see that difference in Condor too. :P In fact, I've yet to see a non-arcade simulator where you can't see such differences. Now, I don't mean to knock that project, hopefully it'll be awesome and I'll give it a spin when it's released, but from the sounds of it they're still so far from complete that it will be impossible to say if it's anything to be excited about. Definitely something to keep a casual eye on tho. :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
element1108 Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 You could see that with the Su-25T ;) that's true you can, big time. Love the SU 25T model!
SUBS17 Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 You could see that with the Su-25T ;) But the SU25T has only one seat.:D [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]
GGTharos Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 What's the matter, you feel the need for a back-seat driver? ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

It's a pretty bright future though, DCS series, Lead Pursuit is working on another project, Storm of War etc. Seven G is another ambitious project I'm not too sure about. Flight sims are a LOT of work for a part time project.
element1108 Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 What's the matter, you feel the need for a back-seat driver? ;) It'll be practice for DCS's APACHE AH 64A ;)...or maybe DCS HIND :)....OR DCS F-16 ;) haha. :pilotfly::joystick:
sweinhart3 Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 The latest on FO: Hearing this I wish I was an Area51 member again but I'll wait until they finish it. I hear that. I signed up for their area 51 like 4 years ago and was disapointed at what I saw. Been like 5+ years in the making and I think everything is still in the alpha phase. But they only work on it part time so I guess what do ya expect. Not gonna keep spending money to read dev notes for the next 5 years.:music_whistling: Intel i7 990X, 6GB DDR3, Nvidia GTX 470 x2 SLI, Win 7 x64 http://picasaweb.google.com/sweinhart
SUBS17 Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 Yeah I think its best to give the devs their space to finish their project when its done and they're finally working on it fulltime I think then it would be best to be an Area51 member. [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]
SUBS17 Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 What's the matter, you feel the need for a back-seat driver? ;) I feel the need for a new fast jet sim at the moment it looks like the VRS Superhornet for FSX is the next one.:joystick: [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]
EtherealN Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 Bah... "fast jet"... Remember, fighter pilots make movies but bomber pilots make history. ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
