lawndartleo Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 TrackIR isn't dying during a game. It periodically dies (not responding) between sessions after I have to abort or get killed (usually the latter) . Crash, burn, restart, works... Crash, burn, restart, works... Crash, burn restart, works... Crash, burn, restart, doesn't work. I have to exit BS completely and restart TIR. Ideas?
S77th-konkussion Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Track IR software typically has a enable/ disable toggle button assigned. It sounds like you are pressing that button during your flying. Go into the Track software, and disable it. [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]
lawndartleo Posted November 12, 2009 Author Posted November 12, 2009 Nope... it's not an F9 issue. The application is dead. When I get out to desk top, the TIR box is black and the top application bar says TrackIR (not responding).
-Bazong- Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Make sure it's connected to it's own usb-port, or to a powered usb-hub. Only thing I can think of..
S77th-konkussion Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 If on Vista- make sure you are running the program itself as admin. It's not enough to be logged on as an admin. Othe than that- I'd reinstall. Make sure thatif you unplug the device that you put it back in the same USB, and try to avoid using a USB hub. lawndartleo Posted November 12, 2009 Author Posted November 12, 2009 It is in a motherboard port. The problem only exists in DCS BS. I can flip-flop in LOMAC all I want (yes, much crash-burn-restart there, too) and the same problem does not manifest itself. FSX and IL2 are fine as well. As I said, it is always as a result of leaving the 3D world and then re entering it. That process seems more brutal on the system in Black Shark than any other game (longest load times of all programs mentioned) If it matters... NaturalPoint_Vince Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 running the TrackIR software minimized? What version of the TrackIR software are you using? 1 Support@NaturalPoint.com TrackIR - Put your head in the game http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/index.html
lawndartleo Posted November 13, 2009 Author Posted November 13, 2009 Not minimized 4.1 build 37, the latest version available as far as I see from your web site Using a TIR3 with Vector Expansion
S77th-konkussion Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Run it minimized. I have always started the track and immediately minimized it- never had any issues . [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]
PoleCat Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 ^^^^Same^^^^ minimized. If this does not solve the issue for you you may want to try changing the usb port that the TIR is plugged into. Are you using a USB hub of any kind? Out http://www.104thphoenix.com/
MrReynolds Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Running Win7 and I too have just had TIR fail. Rebooted = nothing. Changed usb port and it was picked up and is now running again. Hopefully it was a random glitch.....:P
