czarnyolek
Its very difficult. You got aspect ratio wrong or whole model is off shape ;) Why not try with some good blueprints ?
Luse
The nozzle is Way off I suggest making a specific block model as each has different Engine Nozzles/Types STT Radar issue is leftover code.
BrumTx
Way off, looks like a mix of different blocks Remember the 346 Fire Fighters, Medics & Police who died on 9-11....... Selective memory is a wonderful thing, especially when certain posts simply disappear into the ether never to be seen again, unless I have a copy of the original post copied and pasted into word documents and saved .... just in case :) Am I an abusive idiot ? Luse
I would suggest modeling either the 32 or 52 Block F-16. ( I believe ) they are the most commonly used by Air Fores around the world today. STT Radar issue is leftover code.
Lucas_From_Hell
I have the eyes of a bat, so I can't get so many details as you guys, but, hell, this canopy is looking great! It's already starting to look a bit better (not that Tomcat's was bad in any way), keep up the good work, John! I'd love to have this guy locked in my HUD :D

beczl
Beware of blueprints. Cause they are NOT official documents, their accuracy is often doubtful... Yeah I agreed with it. When I was created the Mig-21bis I recognise to very hard to find a correct and "official" blueprint.

john_X
yes but very slow. the 3d is modeled from the start and i used many blueprints to match the real model. the wings and the rest of the parts ill use them from tomcatz so only the main body is to be finished and mapped. this is how it looks.
borchi_2b
make the wings your own, cause this way you will not have any troubleshooting when there are made mistakes in modelling or in shape. just a little advise, cause i have seen that very often when people used things from other people and in the end, they had alot more workload, cause they had to fix things to change them to thier needs. so far, your modell looks very smooth and the shape look good too. looking forward to se further development http://www.polychop-sims.com
john_X
the model is very smooth. but it has already 20.000 polys. i appreciate that the finished one will be at something around 25.000.i can change the number of polys but the result isnt the same as in the next pics so i prefere to have a 25.000 polys finished model without the damaged one. is it fine with you guys? borchi_2b
as far i can remember the information from Eagle Dynamics, it is sead to be a max of 100.000 polyies is what the engine can handle fine as max ammount. what you should think about for sure are LOD models, like i have to do :-) when you use the visibility argumentation right, you can also get a littlebit more performance, cause what is hidden, does not need to be rendered by the graficcpu and not really calculated by the main cpu maybe that helps you a bit with the choice of polyammount cheers boom boom you maybe want to visit this side http://www.simmodders.org/ this is the official simmod forum, where we invite all the people out there who are making models and mods, to join and build up a very decent team of 3d artist and texturer Edited February 26, 2010 by borchi_2b http://www.polychop-sims.com
TOMCATZ
Dear john, you did a outstanding job- I like it very well. So 25.000 polys should be okay but not more. The trouble allways starts when 10 "high poly jets" taxiing the runway so its better to build a good looking fuselage by saving polygons. Actally graphic cards went faster and faster last years allthough processor structures are still the same as ages before. So we can push the look highly with high-res. textures and TGA`s. However: Great job-:thumbup::thumbup: Very best wishes, TOM Born to fly but forced to work.

john_X
so what sim is ed's f-16 made for? lockon or dcs? what difference is between c and mlu/?
OldCrow
I'd guess its for dcs. Biggest Differances between c model and mlu I guess is mostly the parachute pod on the tail. But that model sure looks good [sIGPIC]http://www.virtualredarrows.com/member_sigs/vra2012_crow.png[/sIGPIC]
