Lange_666 Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 (edited) Want to make an overview of issues when running (installing is done in various other threats already) Lock On on Windows 7. For now i have come accross a few bugs: - Engine sound when on the ground, entering the cockpit. Dissapears after moving when pushing to full throttle and then back. - More crashes: only started recording today but i have seen 2 concerning the edterrain.dll file. (solved by deleting a building texture mod) - Race pedals as rudder seems a no go due to Win 7 recognizing an axis for each pedal instead of a single axis. - No vertical sync (atm) even forced through the driver (nVida). Anything more? Edited December 25, 2009 by Lange_666 solutions found Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. Monitors: LG 27GL850-B27 2560x1440 + Samsung SyncMaster 2443 1920x1200, HOTAS: Warthog with Virpil WarBRD base, MFG Crosswind pedals, TrackIR4, Rift-S, Elgato Streamdeck XL. Personal Wish List: A6 Intruder, Vietnam theater, decent ATC module, better VR performance!
PoleCat Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 (edited) Yes. Problem 1 (Solution): Use Alchemy or similar program for your sound card. Problem 2 (My take): I have less crashes under 7 with Lockon then I ever had with XP. This sounds like it may be just your particular setup. Perhaps an affinity fix or the graphics/game settings need to be re adjusted or tweaked etc. Problem 3 (Not sure): I can not speak to this one but I have no issues with a Cougar and simped vario pro w/toe brakes rudders. Lange_666 Posted December 19, 2009 Author Posted December 19, 2009 @ Polecat: For problem 3 it only refers to a racepedals setup as rudder. Add: No vertical sync (atm) even forced through the driver (nVida). Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. EtherealN Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Yeah, on #3 I'm not really all that convinced that it's anything wrong - since it actually is two separate axes on a racing pedal rig. (Though I know some people managed to mask that somehow, but I'm not sure how it was done.) Buznee Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 There is also an issue with aircraft rendering where there is an light highlight on the textures around the aircraft edges.
EtherealN Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Buznee, I did see that as well and fixed it through either changing AntiAlias settings or AF, can't remember which. But changing one of them instantly removed the problem. Mustang Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 There is also an issue with aircraft rendering where there is an light highlight on the textures around the aircraft edges. Don't use full shadows, use the full planar setting (FC2.0 shouldn't have this problem)

Lange_666 Posted December 20, 2009 Author Posted December 20, 2009 (edited) Not here Kuky. Forced it through D3Doverrider (and/or nHancer) but no joy at the moment. I would help to remove some tearing i have on the HUD image so i need it to work... solutions are welcome. (Could it be that i'm running a usercreated resoltion/refreshrate which prevents VSync from working?). Edit: no, that ain't it.... Lange_666 Posted December 25, 2009 Author Posted December 25, 2009 I removed the solution for the soundissue on the main post because i can't get it to work on this setup. Had an HD going bezerk and needed to re-install everything from scratch onto a new HD. This time however, the latest 64bit RealTek drivers didn't solve it so there still must be something else...:( Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. IvanK Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 I am running Nvidia GTX 295 no issues with V synch just set it on through the Nvidia control panel.
Lange_666 Posted December 26, 2009 Author Posted December 26, 2009 Not for me, tried about everything i know to get it to work...no joy. nHancer doesn't, NCP doesn't, D3DOverider didn't, other drivers won't.
