CapnGimp Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 nice screencaps I-5 2500K@3.3GHz 8GB AMD_5850 Linux and Win7 for games X52 working on getting IR built
pinkBrood Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 This was really an awesome event Eddie, i hope to see more of this in the comming weekends, and a very fine mission you had for us indeed! I still wanna see you make that mission you said, being "as real as it gets", i say bring it on! :) // Tomten
HiJack Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 I made myself a dedicated server for rookie players :joystick: Had to select “buy again” on the shop but this SIM is really worth every penny spent. Hope Eddie doesn’t mind me using his missions for the server. I have a couple of configurations to do on the server lua file still but that will all be fixed before next weekends rookie meet :) If you have suggestion for other “easy” missions with a lot of friendly and foe please let me know. Tested it today and people were joining as I tested! Think it works OK. It will be on the serverlist for this evening and running Eddies two missions with a 3 hour turnover. Servername “HiJack rookie server”. I'm usually flying online as HiJack :smilewink: Note that the server is running Server Manager and you will get kicked for teamkilling. ® 2

Suppose I'd best get to work on some more. And thanks for hosting this server.

I'd suggest setting a password to the server and posting it to this forum, so you don't get totally random people causing trouble :). I'll definitely check your server tonight.
HiJack Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Have an error with the server on mission Operation Whirlwind. The mission also has two AH choppers trying to take off under a powerline. Need to sort that out Eddie ;) ®
Eddie Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 (edited) Hmm, didn't happen when I was testing it. Anyway, I've moved the blue FARP slightly so it shouldn't happen again. New version HERE. I've also updated Operation Steel Panther, download HERE Edited January 25, 2010 by Eddie
JD_LincsUK Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Yeah, thanks a lot for hosting, Rusty - I'll be sure to pop in evenings  I'm just working out an SST profile for BS and it's a nightmare. I think I have the important stuff included, but I keep finding other stuff that seems vital, too. :joystick: Oh well - I 'll have to adjust as we go. Did anyone notice that there are far too many keyboard controls for this sim? :ermm: JD

Did anyone notice that there are far too many keyboard controls for this sim? :ermm: JD What stick have you got? Don't sit there trying to program everything, have a look at the manual for the controls that are on the HOTAS in the real KA-50 and program them. For everything else just use the switches in the cockpit, it's why they are there.
JD_LincsUK Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 The X52. No, I wouldn't dream of trying to put everything in the profile (is that possible?) - I did check what's on the real stick - but I'm concentrating on what I need often - and trying not to stray too far from my FC profile so I don't get confused when switching from one to the other. With the exception of the wheelbrake and AP, I have kept to the real stick controls anyway. Of course I have a stack of other stuff available - and that is the long bit. :) JD
Eddie Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 I've just finished another mission. This one will require more co-ordination than Steel Panther as a friendly ground assault is involved, but is still not overly complicated. Download Link

HiJack Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Added Eddies new mission. Testing server .... :D
JD_LincsUK Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 I tend not to get on with other people's profiles, but I'll check it out, thanks. I did finish my 'beta' profile a couple of hours ago, though one or two buttons (hats as 4-way) are conflicting with default ones. I have a habit of forgetting to switch modes. Rusty, I was on your server earlier. The briefing looked the same as the one we flew yesterday, but somehow the terrain didn't. Maybe because it was in daylight... anyway I didn't find you or any enemy and left to do some SP practice with those ID missions someone posted. JD
scott161 Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 (edited) would love to get online with other players, I have some questions as to how to re arm and re fuel after landing can't seem to figure it out you can contact me at sfoster161@centurytel.net thx Edited January 25, 2010 by scott161
Eddie Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Hi Scott, Feel free to jump onto Hijack(Rusty)'s sever sometime and connect to my team speak 3 server, at some point someone will be along who is more than happy to help. I'll gladly help you out where I can, but I'm usually only online over the weekend.
showtime817th Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 I can be there. I not sure how to figure out the zulu time thingy. I'm central time so if some one could tell me what time yall are talking about so I can meet up with you guys. Thanx, Showtime [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Woots Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 I not sure how to figure out the zulu time thingy. Currently, central time is 6 hours behind GMT. Simply take the GMT (Zulu) time and subtract 6. Ex: Current GMT = 16:42 (4:42 pm) Central time = 10:42 (10:42 am) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Woots Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Eddie, Do you have single player versions of your missions? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
JD_LincsUK Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Can't you just host your own multiplayer session and fly in that? You can then stop anyone else from joining in a number of ways, if you want to do it alone. JD
Eddie Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Eddie, Do you have single player versions of your missions? Not at the moment, no. For the most part there is a bit too much going on for the monkeys (AI) to handle imo. I might make single player versions some of the 4 player co-op missions at some point though.
HiJack Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 (edited) I am filally finished testing the Rookie server :smartass: and will host tomorrow’s meeting on my server. The server is set up to manually change mission so we have loads of time to clear out the target areas :pilotfly: This time the server will be password protected and the only way to get the password is on Eddies Teamspeak. I hope this session will have more focus on teamwork in missions. Rookie pilots must meet up on Eddies Teamspeak (see the first post for the teamspeak info) at 2 PM EST (That's 1900Z or 1100 PST) on Sunday, the 31th of January. I will be flying as HiJack as usual :) and will be online on the rookie server some hours before the rookie meet-up. ® Edited January 30, 2010 by HiJack 1
HiJack Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Very good missions tonight on the rookie meet! Thanks for joining :smilewink: I will definitely host next Sunday as well. As you can see of the scoreboard we were 8 on the server but I did not get any lag complaints; please tell me if you experience lag. Jackal No lock on these targets Jackal trying to take them out with GUN Jackal: It hurts if you miss Skumby using Canon Sabre moving through missile fire. SinandGrin Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 That was a lot of fun, I never had any issues with lag and everyone worked well together to complete that last mission! I was flying as Jackal and yes that miss did hurt
