I am curious about something. When you buy FSX, and buy an Addon of a aircraft, do you get mission with it? So can you use the planes/chopper for military actions or only for learn how to fly?

Thanks

Depends which addon. Some feature custom missions, some already come with some interesting flight plans or tutorials. Are you interested in anything particular?

Check http://www.vrsimulations.com or http://www.captainsim.com - these are my favourites. Have the C-130 from the second vendor, and pre-ordered F/A-18E from the first one.

Possibly by then maybe there might be a combat mod for FS as there are a couple of groups working on that. As it is before the F is the E for FSX followed the E pro.

Ok, so only learn how to fly... Hmmm

Only? Well I'd say that's a lot to offer.

I can see most HL folks have no idea how to do a proper approach and landing.

FSX Learning Center is a great place to visit.

There is no Hind for FSX. Nemeth did wonderful Mi family for FS9, but for unknown reasons they've never updated them for FSX :(

Hey, it goes on FSX properly. Try)

I don't fly non-native aircrafts in FSX, they eat my framerates, but maybe I should try?

Back to topic - there are several payware addons that comes with the missions - if I remember correctly there are missions for Aerosoft Twin Otter, F-16 and Jayhawks, I think Razbam and Iris made few missions too.

Carenado aircrafts give me better frames then default ones and I must mention the amazing flight model :)

I have their Cessna 172

the carenado 172 is excellent, along w orbx australia addons, rex, etc...my favorites are the hi fidelity aircraft like the p-40 and boeing 377.

Nice :D I have accuired FSX now and will definetly get the VRS F/A-18E Superbug. The F/A-18E is taking off and landing on carrirers? Right?

That is correct. You better preorder it now. You will get a discount if you preorder it before March. March is release date!

All I know that FSX version supports full carrier ops even in multiplayer!

Seriously looking forward to this release. Where will the superbug online players fly I wonder. I hate fsx substitutions for third part aircraft.

Anyone flying the fs9 version will to show us fsx guy the ropes (assuming you get it for fsx) :D

I still have to do some tweaking but I've been flying with the Alphasim AS365N Dauphin and Aerosoft Seahawk & Jayhawk X for a couple of weeks. It's a lot of fun even though FSX absolutely kills my PC. I get great frames on DCS, Crysis, COD5, etc but man my FPS gets shot while flying. That and the virtual cockpit on the Seahawk drives me crazy with my TrackIR.

MS Flight Sim X, is best used for "real" flying.

When I was working on my instrument rating, using the G1000 in the 172SP to practice approaches saved me a lot of money.

You can practice DME Arcs, ILS, VOR, GPS approaches all day long.

I am now using it in multiplayer mode for my CFI training with my Dad to practice teaching a student how to fly. It is awesome we both can fly the same airplane and with Skype, I can talk to him as a real student and if needed take the controls as a real CFI would.

It is a great investment for saving lots of money for "real" flight training in the real world.

I have not received my FSX flight simulator yet :( but I am already planning some add-ons :D If I buy the Superbug will I be able to take off and land at Vaernes and London City Airport with the BUG?

VRS F/A-18E SuperbugX:

http://www.vrsimulations.com/FA18EFSX.htm

Trondheim - Vaernes X (FSX only):

VFR London X & City Airport (FSX only)

http://www.aerosoft.com/cgi-local/us/iboshop.cgi?showd,,10804

And if I will land at a carrier, will I get responses from flight control when I am at glide path or under/over the glide path like in Lock-On?
