ED Team Glowing_Amraam Posted February 11, 2010 ED Team Posted February 11, 2010 I bought this game, playing around with the beta! ;) Definetly worth it! EtherealN Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 The beta that you can get access to through preorders, does that include the singleplayer? That's the part I enjoyed the most in the first Bad Company - the storyline and it's characters was just hilarious, with a gold-plated Hind to top it off! Shame the Hind had horrible controls. :P [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester

Feuerfalke Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Very nice sequel to the Battlefield-series. A lot of flaws from previous releases were improved largely. It also allows more flexibility in outfitting your soldier. Of course the new destruction-engine is the best part about it: Can't reach the objective you need to blow up? No problem, just destroy the whole building. Got soldiers hiding in the forest? Just use that 20mm chainsaw. :gun_smilie: MSI X670E Gaming Plus | AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D | 64 GB DDR4 | AMD RX 6900 XT | LG 55" @ 4K | Cougar 1000 W | CreativeX G6 | TIR5 | CH HOTAS (with BU0836X-12 Bit) + Crosswind Pedals | Win11 64 HP | StreamDeck XL | 3x TM MFD
Prophet4no1 Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Keep in mind, this is not a squal to BF2. BF3 is in development now. This is a sort of a spin off line in the world of BF. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Agg Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 What really bugs me about the Battlefield games is that they could be awesome if people had a more tactical and realistic approach to playing them, but most people just seem to run around like chickens with their heads cut off, shooting teammates to get vehicles and so on. Are there servers for people who want a more realistic experience in Bad Company 2?
ED Team Groove Posted February 12, 2010 ED Team Posted February 12, 2010 Well, as soon as you accept that it's not 100% realistic you will get great fun out of it. The sound engine simply rocks, best i have heard so far. Your own guns, and especially the battle raging some hundred meters away are very realistic in terms of sound. Having a apache over you spilling 30 mike mike into the enemy lines with its distinct sounds will make you smile :) The normal modus is very arcadish (you need half of a PKM mag to kill one opponent) but the hardcore mode is where you will get the biggest fun! Definately a must buy. 1 Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en

Are there servers for people who want a more realistic experience in Bad Company 2? My clan (Napalm Cowboys) has a server ordered already. As soon as the retail version is out it goes live. I will post the IP when it's up. We are pretty hardcore about banning the idiots from our servers. TKing on purpose is a quick way to a ban. Right now, all servers are beta servers being ran by the major providers out there. Maybe half a dozen companies world wide. Once we get are server up I expect it will be ran like our old servers. We want teamwork. We will probably have it in the more realistic hardcore mode as well. At least if I have any say it will be. :gun_sniper: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
CE_Mikemonster Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Unless you go into a building, there is not much corridor fighting. It's all open. And if some one is behind a wall, you can alsways blow it up. RPG, grenade launcher, tank cannon, if it explodes it will rip a building apart. Except hand grenades. The frag evffect wont normally blow out walls. But will destroy softer things like fences. I highly encourage any one that is interested to get in on the beta. Sorry mate, to clarify I meant it was corridoor as in you have a level Start and End. Unless it's like Op Flashpoint with [rather] open maps and objectives? Too many cowboys. Not enough indians. GO APE SH*T
diveplane Posted February 12, 2010 Author Posted February 12, 2010 can all the icons be disabled on screen? https://www.youtube.com/user/diveplane11 DCS Audio Modding.
Lucas_From_Hell Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 A stupid question here: it's standalone, right? Or you need Battlefield 2 to play it...? Either way, looking AWESOME :D

Definately a must buy. There is a hardcore mode?? Didn't know this! :D Meaning just a few bullets will get the job done? I will most definetly play that, since it will "feel" more realistic. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgJRhtnqA-67pKmQ3A2GsgA ED youtube channel https://www.facebook.com/glowingamraam My facebook page

Prophet4no1 Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 can all the icons be disabled on screen? Hardcore removess all screen icons except objective markers and freindlyies. Map, ammo count, enemies, and everything else is gone. No cross hairs either. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Prophet4no1 Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Sorry mate, to clarify I meant it was corridoor as in you have a level Start and End. Unless it's like Op Flashpoint with [rather] open maps and objectives? There is good old conquest mode. Each team starts at a given flag. The map has more scattered around. Objective, capture all the flags. You can hit them in any order. Depending on the map layout, there normally is not a flow direction really. Unless it's in a large valley. But even then you can take a choper and hit a flag midway or hit the farthest one. Really it's up to you. This is the standard mode in all BF games. Rush is a push style and is what you play in the beta. Basically one team attacks and the other team defend. Game ends when the defending team is pushed of the map or the attacking team runs out of respawn tickets. There is also a squad on squad mode I have read about. You will have four indapendant squads on the map. Each is there own team. The objective is the take out the other squads. I do not know much about this mode to be honest. Lastly there is supposed to be some vehicle capture mode. From what I gatehr there will be one tank or APC on the map and teams will fight over it. Winner is the one who can get it back to there base in one piece. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
ED Team Groove Posted February 13, 2010 ED Team Posted February 13, 2010 Harcore still isn't "HARDCORE" but it's way better than normal modus in terms of damage done by bullets. Altough i play medic and i love that pumpgun which is really deadly in CQP (in normal and hc mode). Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en
diveplane Posted February 13, 2010 Author Posted February 13, 2010 reading reports that this demo is laggy and slow frame rate show stopper? confirm anyone, or did they improve it? https://www.youtube.com/user/diveplane11 DCS Audio Modding.
Prophet4no1 Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 My rig Q6600 OC at 2.69ghz 4gb OCZ DDR2 PC800 at 950 eVGA GTX 260 overclocked at tweaked. I do not have exact numbers in front of me. All running on a eVGA 750i mobo. I get 30-50fps. The main bit of lag people are getting is from the testing of the server side software. So, it can be hit and miss. Again the is NOT a demo. It is a BETA. All betas have bugs. That's why they have beta testing. The main forcus accordign to DICE is to nail down the server code and fix ballancing issues. For the most part I have very few issues, but I only play on two servers most of the time. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Grimes Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 I don't have access to the PC beta but an actual demo is open to all on the PlayStation Network, and I have to say I'm torn on buying the game. I'm a long time Battlefield fan and have always enjoyed the game in its many different formats. The destructable environments are spectacular, sound effects great, and the game looks pretty good to boot. Yet every player has access to the same guns at the start. A US Army medic class uses the Russian PKM, likewise a Russian Recon Class starts with the US M24 sniper rifle. I don't get it why they decided to do this. I understand they are trying to simplify and combine classes a little bit, but why the hell is a medic using SAW type of weapons? I remember in BF2 each class had a specific unlock that was usable no matter what side you were on, but each coalition at least had their basic weapons that performed differently from the enemy counterparts. I don't really see a need for the "hardcore" mode either. Nearly every single kill I got online felt like it took the right amount of shots/damage to kill someone. It could be my play style/people I was playing against because I am quite convinced people on PSN have no clue how to play battlefield. I discovered this on 1943 where it just felt too easy to have regen health and ammo, while after just 1 game I figured out the mechanics and quickly became the #1 player on the server. Same holds true in BC2, as in my 2nd and 3rd game online I was the top player in the server. I think IF i were to get his game it would have to be on PC (Dx11, more players, its how I would prefer to play the game.... and its 10 bucks cheaper) but some of the changes to the classes and weapons really turn me off to it. Apparently you can't even go prone anymore. WTH is with that? No Leaning..... fine there are tons of great games realistic and unrealistic that lack leaning. No Prone.... No wonder it takes Groove half a PKM clip to kill somebody, the game prevents him from using the weapon correctly! The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. No wonder it takes Groove half a PKM clip to kill somebody, the game prevents him from using the weapon correctly! It's not a good idea to compare with BF2 since this is not BF3. BF3 is in development. This is a differnt game. BC2 is a sequal to a console game. It has some BF traits but it's differnt game from start to finish. I agree on the weapons though. It's odd and I'm not sure that will change in the final version. As for the LMG's for medic, yeah it's a bit overkill. They can toss a health pack next toe themselves and lay waist to a crowd and ther is not much you can do about it. It's not as bad in HC mode though since they are easier to take down.
