topol-m Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 It looks nice especially the front section. Why does it look so long? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Pilotasso Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 wing span will be a good indicator how agile this bird will be. Its probably tailored for long range, requires a big fuel capacity and large engines. The radar is also a factor, anything made by the Chinese to achieve long range will have to have a big antenna, thus resulting in a large airframe. .
mikoyan Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 The wings look like a diamond delta with diamond shaped covers for the aileron actuators; and the canards look like they are trapezoidal with swept; there seen to be a space between them and the wings. If I'm not mistaken they tested the intake design on a j-10; there are some picture of it on the net. The general configuration is similar to the mig 1.44 concept. The cockpit is very close in shape to the raptor's cockpit. That thing is big! more like a long range fighter; probably designed to travel the bast distances in China. Are the engines the same used for the Russian t-50? I trough that they were not in good terms about intellectual property with the Chinese.
Antartis Posted December 28, 2010 Author Posted December 28, 2010 (edited) I think both J-20 and Mig 1.44 designs are very identical. mikoyan Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 almost... the mig concept had small elevators on the space betwheen the vertical tails; those are missing on the chinesse bird; the intake is different. The wings are very far back.
Antartis Posted December 28, 2010 Author Posted December 28, 2010 where are you getting these??? http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showthread.php?t=105427&page=15 Asus Prime Z-370-A Intel core I7-8700K 3.70Ghz Ram g.skill f4-3200c16d 32gb Evga rtx 2070 Ssd samgung 960 evo m.2 500gb Syria, Nevada, Persian Gulf, Normandy 1944 Combined Arms A-10C, Mirage-2000C, F-16C, FC3 Spitfire LF Mk. SuperKungFu Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Very interesting....I remember seeing these very early artist concepts and it looks very similar to the prototype [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Pilotasso Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 One thing interests me though. The canards are almost co-planar with the wings. None of the others has that feature. And if it has side bays, it will get even more interesting. .

GGTharos Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 I think you're looking at two slightly different pieces of technology. Yes, our iPhones are huge cause they're MIC as well! power5 Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Yeah, one was designed in America and built in china. Does this thing really need canards? I thought that was a fad. Though the wing is very far back I guess. Maybe they should have just made it a delta wing. Would hate to be flying that thing if the canard servos fail. That big butt will stay aloft as the nose aims at the ground. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Aaron i7 2600k@4.4ghz, GTX1060-6gb, 16gb DDR3, T16000m, Track IR5 BS2-A10C-UH1-FC3-M2000-F18C-A4E-F14B-BF109
SuperKungFu Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 I am curious how stealthy are those canard wings. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
