I checked the manuals and the english forums and couldn't find anything on this so I thought I would post a thread, maybe I missed it somewhere.

HSI:

In some missions I have noticed the HSI and HUD / MagNorth do not agree. This is normal in real aircraft and we have a knob to calibrate it. Is there a control in the Sim to do the same?

TRIM:

I have an Axis on my Throttle (X45) assigned to Elevator Trim. It works fine in everything except the Su-25T. The odd thing, is that the Keyboard entries for Trim do work.

As a work around I find my self using Alt-1 as a trim control and Alt-~ when I need to bank, but I would like to have my Axis Trim back if possible.

When all else fails, Eject then read the manual.

Oh, and a good wingman helps.

Realworld su 25t doesnt have a trim knob, so that is intentional.

Then why would the keyboard trim work in the AFM?

I'm almost positive this is not correct. The few pictures I've seen of the Su-25T cockpit show what looks like the trim knob (button) centrally located on the head of the stick. I could very well be wrong, though. But, as I understand it, trimming the Su-25 is tricky because you only know where the neutral position is (by the lights). There is no way to tell how much or in which direction, the aircraft has been trimmed. So all trim must be first set to a neutral position and, then, you input the amount of trim you need from there.

See here. :)

Unofficial Flaming Cliffs FAQ

Q: Why "set trimmers to neutral possition" key is not working for Su-25\Su-25T?

A: Because of high level of simulation of AFM, these function was excluded from Su-25\Su-25T aircraft, since they doesn't have this fucntion in real life.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Why trim-axis doesn't work for Su-25\Su-25T?

A: The same reason as above, these aircrafts has button-style trimmers only in real life.

Firstly, your tuts rock.

Secondly, you are right, i meant trim knob in the most literal possible way, not that there isnt any in the aircraft :)

Firstly, thank you.

Secondly, I realized that out upon rereading what you had written just a minute or so before I read your reply. :) As a point of interest, I just recently bought the X-45 to replace my slowly dieing Reflex USB 3D stick and mapped the trim controls to POV Hat 1. Not sure if I like it here, though. Too easy to over-trim.

Actually in most jet fighters thats where the trim button is located. The way to do it is by response or reaction to where the aircraft wants to go. You just apply it to counter the aircrafts responses. Its even more fun if you are using rudder pedals on v1.1.
