Let’s analyze the problem further. What choices ED has to face :

 

- touch the largest public possible > a popular or renown aircraft

F16 is the answer

 

- Jump over the opportunity of grabbing the maximum players from FS

FREE/OPEN Falcon Community

 

- Everybody knows the F-16.

- To keep in mind the storyline the plane has to have long life duration before being obsolete.

Again F16, gracefully it has reached the Block 60 integration!

 

 

Life is cruel ! ED is a company that needs profit to survive. They are simulator lovers like us, but they need trading success to exist! Military market is an other thing !

 

On the other hand massive OPEN/FREE FALCON community awaits an F16 Module.

 

Don't forget that OPEN/FREE FALCON are all buyers of DCS / Lockon !

By releasing A10C ED has an 80% F16C completed so more easy to develop F16 Module

 

In my opinion everything leads to a multirole fighter ........ the F16C !

 

 

PS: Yes JPM1 I get used to own a DCV car !!! I enjoyed it the most !

It is also far from the truth. There is more than 20% difference between the A-10 and the Viper. Think A-A AND A-G radar, advanced A-A missile seeker logic, 3D-pit, probably a new 3D model as well, a lot of MFCD systems are a little different. Whishful thinking is what that is.:(

I just wanted to mention that programatically there is less job to be done now that you have A10C. You have a modernized US aircraft avionics base, for further modules development as well as a physics engine. As far as it concerns A-A and A-G radar logic, I agree, that involves new programming logic to be developed and i am sure that is not all.

 

Then again i dont press on my opinion! I am not an ED insider ! :)

My heart sank after seeing the F-16 in GA's promo vid,

looks so good and i can't fly it :(

I felt exactly the same when the F-15's started rolling down the runway.

Hope you know what ever we type in this thread has absolutly no* effect on the outcome of the DCS: Module.

I'd say we have a good shot at being .00000000000000000000001% influential. Which is enough for me to keep shouting DCS: Eagle.

yep . ED doesn't make an arcade game realism is part of the fabric mark

 

 

concerning F-16 ED has a very small error margin because of already existing excellent FreeFalcon . as i already said it's a bet

Falcon has its own problems and unrealisms. It isn't quite the yardstick you want it to be for realism ;)

Falcon was the yardstick till DCS came along and introduced a brand new yard stick.

 

I will take anything but f18. Not sure why, but that plane has never done anything for me. And it took over the spot of my all time favorite plane, the tomcat. From all I remember years ago, the F16 was a better plane than the f18 as was the F15. F18 can do some of the stuff the f14 did, but no where near the range or speed. Its the result of compromise. It is better than no other plane in the fleet at any job, but I guess if you average all mission types, it may beat the others. Oh, well it can land on a carrier.

That is because you don't have a real yardstick ... like reality :P

You might have a sim you consider the best, but using that as a yardstick = shafting yourself.

 

As for the F-18 taking over for the Tomcat, good deal. Better maintenance, more g available, much more modern avionics and in general a better performer for the money. It will out-turn and out-bomb almost anything that's out there.

Isnt the title of this forum "Next DCS Aircraft Wish List"?

 

Just because I mentioned an unusual aircraft doesnt mean that it cant be made into a realistic flight model.

Infact using your argument from before it makes more sense to include an AWACS aircraft, particularly the 737 into DCS because the 737 is incredibly popular with the FS community. Relatively easy to "get your mitts" on the information too.

 

On the Arcade comment, isnt there a setting in DCS - Blackshark for a Simplified mode? Seems ED does infact make some Arcade style software :doh:

 

At the end of the day, ED will go where the money is. That is what they beleive will take them in the direction they want to go. You will know for sure when they announce it.

 

Until then, the rest of us can have all the ideas we like.....in wishful thinking :)

Nice try, but I know Top Gun is real in every way a movie can be. Every maneuver is an approved and even preferred tactical move.

 

F/A 18 is ugly, you are wrong about that. Tails look goofy being 10 feet in front of the engine outlets and at that awkward angle. Wings fold in the wrong direction as well. They are supposed to just rotate back. And really does folding the last 6" of the wing save that much space? How many f14 got shot down in Top Gun? Out of how many flying? How many F18 got shot down in behind enemy lines? Out of how many flying? I think you will see this data proves without refute the supremecy of the F14. :P :megalol:
