As Eddie previously mentioned, there's a difference between the internal mechanism being classified or all of the capabilities being classified. In the case of the AH-64D, most things fall under the latter, so they can't really be modelled realistically. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!

On the other hand, data-links and radar equipment on the AH-64D could not be modeled, which also means MMW hellfires could not be modeled, nor a whole bunch of their interesting firing modes etc. No doubt, and my feelings were also an example. Being very optimistic, if ED team has many options for us (many = at least 2) why dont do a poll with the possibilities and the comunity could choose. If there s no possibilities, what about when DCS A10 is released, why don t annouce what it will be ? I don't think that'd be likely. Even if they do have several possibilities, there will probably be a logical order for doing them which allows them to get products to market in the shortest possible time by building upon one product to reduce the time required to produce the next. For example, if the F-16 and the A-10 were both possibilities, it'd make sense to do the A-10 first, even though the F-16 might be the more popular aircraft. There's fewer systems to model so it can get to a release sooner, and a fair bit of commonality between the aircraft so the work on the A-10 could lay the foundations for the F-16. You might then be looking at 2 years to develop the A-10 plus another 2-3 for F-16, versus probably 3-4 for the F-16 plus another 1-2 for the A-10. Numbers completely made up. :)

Now that I think of it, I wouldn't be surprised if Su-25 were the next aircraft, especially since it is a similar type of plane as the A-10 (close air support aircraft), so they will probably only need to model the plane and its systems themselves (i.e. no need to develop stuff necessary for multirole and air superiority missions).

AH-64 (OH-58D would be cool too and can be single pilot operated), or SU-25. This way the helo guys have an adversary, as do the warthog pilots. I'm sure though that they'll make a fighter so they have then 1 helo, 1 attack, and 1 fighter. Which one they make I don't even want to guess, but if they do happen to make an apache, I'd definitely fly it along with my hog.
