You guys should take a look at Combat Helo, still wip but will most likely be released long before any DCS:AH64

I wish this guy would get together with the people doing Outerra. That I would love to see.

We want F-18 this is the best aircraft to attack ground and air targets ! And we love landing on carrier deck ! F-18 RULEEEZ !

I prefer helicopters

 

But everyone crys for an Fighter and so it should be a Multirole Fighter.

 

F14 Tomcat is also a really cool plane (in my opinion the Cadillac of the Skys) but i voted for F18E i think its the better joice.

Multirole is different than dedicated attack.

 

But don't you crave for a dedicated A2A after a dedicated A2G? Or do you want to enjoy best of both worlds !

Are there even any dedicated air-to-air aircraft anymore? Seems like even previous air-to-air fighters like the F-14 and F-15 are dropping bombs now. Maybe the Mig-31 is still air-to-air only?

That's incorrect. The F-15C is still A2A only. For the most part, so is the Raptor.

AFAIK MiG-31's WCS's been upgraded... so it can carry bombs, naval and air weapons ^^

I'm skeptical of how well DCS can model a fighter or fighter bomber environment. After seeing the abysmal AI for wingman in Blackshark, and the not much better wingman/flight AI in A10, I don't know how air to air tactics can realistically be employed.

 

(in DCS) The aircraft models and systems are excellent. But once one gets past that, it comes down to fighting in the airframe, and in air to air battles that will be done in flights and elements. Those flights and elements don't work well in this sim series.

 

Falcon 4 had excellent element and flight AI, and excellent wingman and flight commands that worked. Didn't SimHQ just interview the lead developer of Falcon? Maybe DCS should hire him for some AI work.

The guy was in charge of the dynamic campaign.

But I agree that the AI in DCS is not the smartest, especially in Air. On ground I don't care so much. This will be critical when DCS fighter comes out. I hope we won't have to go A2A against the FC2 AI. What made the F4 AI nice was the fact that it was more human, like some fighters would scramble home if the felt underpowered.

Yes, of course AI is important, but there is the Multiplayer aspect. For that AI is most important for ground units only since every fighting air unit in a mission can be human. You only need to play FC2 to see how air to air tactics can realistically be employed in singleplayer and multiplayer.

I am skeptical too RichardG... From the first very first few times I flew the a mission I 've noticed that AI wingman acts weird.

 

Even in quick mission I see that my wingman flies quite unrealistically compared to the friendly Mi-24s.

 

And NO, AI of air units is important even in multiplayer.

Hi:

 

From a programmer point of view, The making of a AI that's fly like the real pilots will do, is very difficult for not saying that it is almost impossible without loading the processor rendering the sim to a monster consuming game, also you guy are not taking in count the fog of war.

 

So I think that is better to be focused in the multiplayer, Saying that doesn't deny that the AI of DCS needs a review.

But the A-10C is for CAS mainly. With multi-role we can have other ground attack capabilities like high speed interdiction, SEAD, etc, in additio to A2A.

"Fixed wing fighter", that narrows it down a bit more from the previous statement "very popular fixed wing aircraft". Rules out bombers and so on.

Is like already told you guys, a F-16 or a F-15 cause a F-18 is more like carrier operated and is to early for that I think. though all the pictures in the FaceBook page; Also would be nice to have carrier operation and Multirole fighters. I'm hoping that in FC2 they put a multirole Mig or Su.

Im not sure, F-15E is for two persons - pilot plus operator. It will be very difficult to manage this as in level of DCS line sim. If F-15 - probably F-15C.

 

 

I think It will be A-10A :D
