I feel that the F-15C would be the most practical plane they could do. BUT, don't you think ED wants the element of surprise for a reason? It could honestly be a fighter that nobody is expecting.

I mean it is odd, all those pictures of the F-18 on their page.

It'll probably be the F-16 if they do do a fighter, it's really popular and there are probably the stats for it.

Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing

the photo album is limited :( didnt see any Hornet or Eagle or Viper . I wouldn't expect an F-15 as i suspect they'd want maybe to make a circle away from LO flyables before returning back to those .... If it would be an F-15 in this case i'd suspect a DCS Strike Eagle as DCS A-10 is C and not A (the work done for the USAF project ofcourse played a decisive role i suppose in this though)

my suspicions as well ... or if not that, my next best guess then would be the Hornet

The question arouse what ED have to say about that :) less hope for a total surprise:thumbup:

DCS strike eagle would be cool but you'd have to let AI do the weapons in single player and that might be tricky to make it do what you want.

I hope it's not anotehr F-15C.

Are there any harriers still in service with the US? I thought it was a military contract for an in service aircraft. Also I would think it would be an aircraft which has undergone some kind of avionics upgrade, which might require a training simulator, as the warthog did for a-c model. So what does that leave us with? Its obviously gonna strart with an F, so we got the 15, 16, 18, and the stealth 22 and 35, which are not very likely due to their secrecy. I'd prefer either the f-16 or f-18.

The Marines will still operate the latest upgrade of Harrier II untill they get the F-35B. i dont think there would be any further upgrade for the Harriers, they are already on the A-10C avionics level by their last upgrade program (AV-8B+ Harrier II Plus)

British Harrier II are being retired this month (or the next) as announced back in 2010. If ED developed such a sim in the past, now that the aircraft is retiring, maybe it got the "green light" to release a detailed sim of the Harrier II.

For now we got a sim for Ka-50 which had no avionics upgrades recently and the operational Ka-50 number is officially 15. The aircraft won't be produced as we know it any longer BUT still ED had a contract.

So... if you can get a contract for a helicopter which counts 15 operational units worldwide almost everything seems quite possible.

Personally the Harrier II would be a nice addition to the DCS series in my opinion! +1 for the bloody Harrier II!

Why American or Russian?

What about a Gripen/Rafale/Typhoon/Mirage2000 or something like that!

Rafale's pretty good but in my opinion the Harrier's just better than everything because of the VTOL

Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing

Yeah. That VTOL gives it a whole 90 sec of hovering with the ability to carry two bombs a whole 50nm into combat!

Probably isn't too good for the engine if you do that though

Pretty sure that was sarcasm from GGTharos but, you never know ;)

I would think the avionics upgrade would be the impetus for the military to drop a big piece of change on a DTS. I'm not sure but I think the fact the ka-50 is russian gave Ed the much needed detail to pull off black shark, did they even have a military contract for that one?
