^ good choice. My personal favorite F-104:

From the selected in the poll I voted for F-4. I love early cold war birds. IMHO the whole sim development industry should focus more on this era, not on the boringly and over-exploited WW2.

They released the Hind aswel.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

Yep, and just a little bit of boring that is, up there @40.000 ... except for those dreadful "blue on blue" incidents ... but then again, it is too late, up there, at 40k+ ..........

'Bout a year and a half ago I made a suggestion on this thread: the MiG-21. Lo and behold.....

So lets hope this works a second time! F-4 Phantom II. One with a gun!

Come on, baby! :D

If I sit down and dream for a moment I imagine this:

DCS offering the following aircraft in some years to come:

US:

A-10C, F-18C, F-16C, F-15E, AH-64D, T-38C

F-4 Phantom

RU:

SU-25T, SU-33, Mig-29, Ka-50

Mig-21

Classics:

P-51D, Me-109, Fw-190, Spitfire, Hurricane

Maps: Georgia, Nevada, English Channel, Korea, Iran, Atlantic ocean (for blue water carrier ops)

Plus SFM aircraft from Flaming Cliffs...

I imagine this could take decades but possibly less with third party development partners.

Mig-21,being worked on as 3rd party currently.

Classics:

P-51D, Me-109, Fw-190, Spitfire, Hurricane < In Many games already these World war II planes :P

Maps:Nevada,Alaska, English Channel, Asia,Middle East Atlantic ocean And Pacific Ocean (for blue water carrier ops)..All are very Possible especially Middle east.

Plus SFM aircraft from Flaming Cliffs...

revised :music_whistling:Though the more i think about it if its all just going into DCS World anyway? Why make an FC3 at all? Would unbalance it due to some planes having click able pits and others won't? Edited by RoaringBones

I would like to write in a vote for the Apache Helicopter, or another U.S. Attack Helicopter.

Been wanting another good one since Jane's Longbow back in the day :)

Thanks.

That sure would be a fun 2 seater experience.

Not really; the Apache would eat the Ka50 for lunch. In A2A, your primary sensor would be the naked eye, and the Apache has two sets and better fields of view. Unless we're talking Longbow', where radar would be the primary sensor, and it would give the AH64D a HUGE advantage. And the thermal sensor on either the AH64A or -D is far superior to the simple LLTV on the Ka50. Apache will spot the Ka50 first, full stop.

Hellfire is semi-active laser homing and therefore better against high-speed crossing targets than the semi-active command-line-of-sight (passive laser) Vikr. Still, neither missile is a good choice against an aerial target.

The (edit, because I was an idiot: ) Apache's cannon is mounted with much, MUCH greater traverse limits. All the Apache has to do is force a left turning fight and he wins; he can bring his cannon to bear over-the-shoulder to the left, while the Ka50 can't engage targets beyond a few degrees.

...but let's be honest, neither one was built for A2A; helicopter dogfights just don't happen.

F-15E Strike Eagle all the way. I love how muscular that plane looks.

I doubt a realistic F-22 and F-35 can be done because so much of the cockpit requires a security clearance.

You think the F-15E's doesn't? :)
