I'd say there are two reasons why most/all people will experience less fps.

The first reason is that fc2 starts with a lot more detail on by defult, such as high resolution

ground textures, advanced haze(fps killer in fc1) and significantly higher clipping distances.

For me I actually get higher fps in fc2 vs fc1 if I remove all this extra stuff from fc2.(but I

like the new detail levels)

The second reason is that fc1 has been out so long that virtually everyone has installed

some form of fps mods or made adjustments themselves to it to improve fps. Do this to fc2

and you will also see improvements there.

Currently i think I have about the same fps in fc2 as in fc1 after some tweaks, but

a LOT better graphics in fc2 than fc1 :)

S = SPARSE(m,n) abbreviates SPARSE([],[],[],m,n,0). This generates the ultimate sparse matrix, an m-by-n all zero matrix. - Matlab help on 'sparse'

I lowered my tv monitor rez down to 256 to help with the fps hit...it has somewhat. I'm sure this will get addressed by a modder someplace. Also take a bit of a hit when i'm on the runway taxing and there are 5 other SU-25's taxing as well.

But other than that she runs really well, just a few things which make drastic hits for me.

My experience with FC 2.0 is similar to Black Shark (for obvious reasons): better all-around performance, but not quite as bad and good on the extremes. I no longer get extremely high or extremely low framerates, just sorta the same across the board. It seems about the same as the average I would get on old FC. I need to do some tweaking.

As many others FPS are similar to FC1.1 for me too. But what I really love is how quickly the loading of the UI works. The difference to FC1.1 is huge. It's awesome.

I noticed that the water setting tends to hit the FPS much more in FC2 than in Black Shark. Once I reduced my Water setting from high to normal, I nearly doubled my FPS.

I`m first time on this forum, so Hello Everybody!

I would like to talk about Skhval if FC2. When I turn on him, My FPS are dramatic low.

I have Quad Core 2,83 Ghz, 8 GB RAM and RADEON 4890X2 2 GB RAM with CrossFireX, so I think it is a very good computer for playing in everything in high details.

With turn off Shkval everything is excellent in 1900x1200 resolution with high details (expect water, which is on normal detail).

I think it`s a bug in the game.

DCS Black Shark works good with turn on Shkval.

Can You ED repair this? Help!

Best regards!

It's the result of having to render the world a second time.

I'm having exactly the same problem. Is there any solutions?

Reducing shkval resolution to 512 works well, and reducing antialiasing also might help. There's no need to crank up to 16 or 32x antialiasing if you don't see the difference, there's usually a good spot that it's related to your resolution and screen dimensions, any AA above that it doesen't make a different but it eats fps.

Also, if you use shkval to view further and without zoom it's slower and you loose more fps, but looking at 15-20km with zoom I loose very few fps (from 50fps to just 40fps).

Oh, also playing in Vista or W7 might boost your fps 20%-40%. XP is very slow with FC2 or DCS.

work well for me, i can run with minimum requirement with Nvidia 512Mb

Ha! I'm currently running FC on a broken (higher rendering functions cause a VPU crash) ATI 128mb card.

I would like to see some solid proof of that. Im willing to beleive a slight boost but 40 % is a HUGE claim. Show me the money !!

Guys i am downloading the English version.

It seems like you can download first and then buy the keys right?

That's fair enough, but its the sheer amount the shkval rendering at once in 0x magnification, it's overkill!

It would be awesome if we could get an option or tweak to reduce the amount thats drawn.....

There were a few threads, some with benchmarks, in the DCS forum. I'm sure a cursory search will provide plenty of information. For what it's worth I noticed an FPS gain on the order of 30%-50% when moving from XP-32 to W7-64 with Black Shark. Given that BS and FC2 now use the same engine, I expect that the results for FC2 would be the same.

Yes. You can even do a full install and access every part of the game that doesn't involve loading a mission without having bought a key.
