How to disable cockpit reflections?

hey folks.

 

I tried to find a way to disable the cockpit reflections, as they eat up frames. The ingame option has been removed and the line in the "options.lua" doesn't work. It's set to false by default.

Any ideas?

No, what I posted in that thread is how to remove scratches on the canopy, it does not remove the reflection on the canopy, but you can do that also. In TempTextures folder there are 3-4 TGA files (I think their name satrts with Pribor.... something something, and has 25, 27 and 29 in the name of the file) that if you open in Paintshop (Paint program wont work with TGA files I believe) you can erase all the background so it's just empty TGA and even resize... or better.. create new TGA file and rename to what they should be called, this way you keep a backup of original files. Don't know how much of performance that would save as I never tried it or had need for it.

I am very interested if there is a performance gain after that modification.

Lightning, I personally dont think there will be any performance gain. it didnt affect at all at 1.12. but I may be wrong :)
