Not sure if you guys have seen this or not but there is a small clip of video from the A-10C cockpit. Enjoy.

WOW. Whats this. Something that is going to be released. The A10 is awesome though. The whole DCS series is awesome and has a lot of potential.

I believe after the A10 we will see something totally different from ED.

I wonder how much this would cost and if only the military can purchase it? If that's true, I might just start my own country and create a 1 man military, just for this :-)

Mainly by looking at the small graphics like

cover.jpg

Or the webside header. All Units are imaged equally like you can train with all of them.

Interesting.

So you're saying you expect DCS to simulate them as well? Because the header shows the exact same units for quite a while, now (+ a UAV, I'd like to add, which I think is much more likely than a human controlled simulated ship): ;)

Ah yeah forget the DCS Banner but also have a look at the symbol. There are 4 Weapon types showed in a square now thats a good indication I guess :)

It would be enough to have some kind of reconnaissance thingy. So we can get our "diamonds" safe in and out of the target area.

But I wouldn´t say no to a human controlled tank or ship in MP :D

It's "the battle simulator". What type units take part in "battle"? All of those. Do they all have to be playable? Does the Igla guy have to be playable?

All of that said, we are not guaranteed to know what is and what isn't in the military products.

IMHO TBS and DCS both say enough, even without looking at the units in the logo or banner. It's a battlefield simulation, not a civilian Flight Simulation. So it's pretty obvious that other battlefield participants are simulated as well.

The question is HOW? And here I doubt that you will be able to sit in a tank or stand on a bridge of a fully modeled ship, just because either could be included in some scenario. That would be simply overkill in every regard.

Well of course it is just a little of "playing with thoughts" in a conspirant(?) way.

It´s just a great imagination thinking of a counterpart on the ground something like a Abrams and Vulcan Duo with the possibillitie to command AI Igla Soldiers to a effective position. :)

It´s not necessary to simulate them all of course but it´s nice anyway.

I will stay with the blackshark no matter comes up in the future :D

Thats from the Forward Air Controller some of us may love to have. This one is clearly mentioned on the TBS page.

Exactly.

And to support my point: An FAC-view does not mean that you are allowed to walk around or drive around in first person view.

There are many ways to implement such a thing, e.g. like the unmodded IL2 where you can control AI-planes with their much simplified damage and flightmodell, but only by using an outside view. It would be much easier to add a special view to that representing a laser-pointer than modeling the complete jeep, solder, weapons, physics and damage-models on a simulation level.

So, while this view seems to be implemented in TBS in one way or the other, it doesn't mean it's a ground-combat simulation. I rather guess that it's a useful thing to train military personnel on designating targets on the ground for aircraft like the A-10. And if even that will be ported to the civilian version is yet a completely different question.

But of course we can keep hoping ;)

Just a question to ED: Which countries (armed forces) are eligible to buy this product and start their training on it? IF my country's national guard (airforce command) decides to buy this product to train our Mi-35P pilots will they have to make a contract with ED to create an Mi-35P helicopter in TBS right?

BTW on a side note: ED keeps showing us the F/A-18 A LOT in TBS lately (hint hint perhaps)?

I doubt ED would answer any questions relating to the military side of their products. But ED is a private company, so I guess if any military around the world asks them make a product, they would consider making a contract.

What interests me is whether a nation like cyprus, that aquired the Mi-35 technology from russia, has the right to relay this technology to a 3rd party (be it russian or whatever). I would be really astonished to learn that Mil would not require a NDA for the usage of their technology to ensure that other customers, who obviously would frown upon such a leak of information, are not subjected to that risk.

I agree. Its always up to Mil bureau and Russia of course. But when diplomacy kicks in... anything can happen.

To sum up and get back on topic, TBS is truly an amazing product and will only get better :)

Considering how this works with WW2 and WW1 aircraft, the original designer keeps the copyrights on all his designs, thus controls whether his technology is revealed and of course, if it is used e.g. in software, books or other media. In IL2, especially Pacific Fighters, this was a painful lecture, as especially US-based aircraft developers like Grumman denied the right to model their airplanes unless an unrealistic fee was payed.

And then, it's the question if Cyprus has an interest to give away information about their own equipment. ;)

If it was that easy, I guess a neutral country like Switzerland would be the first address for ED to model the F/A-18.

Long story short: I'd say that no country is allowed to give such information away freely and most likely has no interest to do so.
