Kuky Posted May 27, 2010 Author Posted May 27, 2010 (edited) hm.. seems I'm among very few people having this issue... I actually haven't tried different in game settings... I'll give that a crack this evening PS: just a note to anyone trying this out, it dosn't matter what RAM usage is between the who (which uses more), you should be looking for if you just load a mission and don't do anything, weather RAM usage keeps increasing or not. And thanks all for helping out, this thing is driving me nuts Edited May 27, 2010 by Kuky PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
TheMoose Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 (edited) Here are the results with the Overcast after average 30Min. idle on the tarmac with full graphics on, with mirrors, 4xAA and in window mode. Playable still? Yes, however I would not, with explosions, inside the action I would get a major drop in FPS… What is weird is that this one seems to take less of active memory... Anyhow I’ll let you guys sort my results out. What is good, is no CRASH lol :D I hope you can sort this out Kuky. I tried that already, I'm reinstalling OS right now... hope this works :noexpression: Anyway that error I got when I tried Low and Medium settings was my fault as I removed those lines from Graphics.cfg file and left High section only  so at least I know the cause of that... if this OS reinstall fixed the memory leak with overcast I'll be dancing :smartass: PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR

HiJack Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 Ewerybody should know that to much water is not good for the memory chips :P
nomdeplume Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 he said to set it from 3 to 1. you miss read it. Actually you miss-read it... the memory leak problem was occurring for Kuky with water = 3 (corresponding to "high" in the options screen) and for water = 2 (corresponding to "normal"). With it set to 1, the leak went away. Since it's already set to 3 for TheMoose and they don't have the memory leak, setting it to 1 wouldn't prove or disprove anything. The only major difference I can see between Kuky's system and mine is the ATI graphics cards (I have an nVidia card).
Kuky Posted May 29, 2010 Author Posted May 29, 2010 (edited) ^^^ You are correct, Water = 2 or 3 and Overcast and I get memory leak, setting Water = 1 and it's all good. Maybe this could be graphics card/drivers related... I don't know. Evgen Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 Hi. May be ... Video RAM . -ATI HD4890 1GB of RAM - ATI HD4670 1GB of RAM got to 938mb ram usage and got up to 952mb ram usage GTS 250 vid card with 1 gig memory Have Radeon hd4830 512 Mb and 420 - 540 usage. Evgeny online
Kuky Posted May 29, 2010 Author Posted May 29, 2010 Hi Evgen, the thing with this issue for me was not how much RAM was being used, but that its usage kept increasing at a steady rate even when there is nothing going in the mission, when Water was set to Normal or High and there is overcast in the mission, which is not normal. It could be that video card drivers are the cause of this (video card drivers, same like any other driver must use system RAM since they are installed as part of OS and are responsible for I/O to the graphics card etc) who knows. TheMoose Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 (edited) That’s another interesting fact. Hum ATI related? Can anyone else that has an ATI card able to replicate this issue?
