Zulu Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Oh well at least we beat France who was in the Final 4 years ago, plus we had a hard group and you can't really expect much more from a team ranked 85th To INVENT an Airplane is Nothing. To BUILD One is Something. But to FLYis EVERYTHING. - Otto Lilienthal [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Pilotasso Posted June 22, 2010 Author Posted June 22, 2010 Nothing useful came from that game. What a waste... .
Lucas_From_Hell Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Yep. Well, it happens. I'm sorry for the French fans, it must have been awful for you guys to wait four years just to see the same arsehole do the same mistakes and ruin the same good team yet again  Still, best luck to Laurent Blanc for the future :) Poor Bafana-Bafana as well... It's the first time the hosts don't get through. After the game, Domenech decided to reassure his statuts of douchebag and refused to shake hands with C. A. Parreira. Shameful... What an idiot.

What an idiot. Yes I saw that too. Not acceptable sporting behaviour. Uruguay look like a solid team with goal scoring power. I think they are a good bet to make final 8? maybe even final 4? Lucas_From_Hell Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Maybe. Group A will face Group B, yes? Well, if that's true, then they stand a good chance of making it into the final 8, as long as they don't screw things up with SK/Nigeria/Greece. But I wouldn't bet in anything beyond that. Mexico, on the other hand, will face Argentina, and I wouldn't bet on any surprises for this game. But hey, who knows? In sports, anything can happen.
Pilotasso Posted June 23, 2010 Author Posted June 23, 2010 Dramatic qualification for the USA. heh? :) Kinda like "get ready for...surpriiiiiiise" last minute upset. Was hard on the Algerians and Slovenians. Maybe. Group A will face Group B, yes? Pilotasso Posted June 24, 2010 Author Posted June 24, 2010 LOL, the Italians are on heavy drugs today?...wth! :D .
Feuerfalke Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 LOL - I got the feeling that quite a few teams have had a big party together, looking at their performance this year. We have bets running in our family, all games of the first phase. Funny thing is: The two people who by far have the most correct bets are the two who have no idea about football and the teams playing. In fact, they wrote down a list of results and just filled them in the list, not knowing who was even playing in the according game... Feuerfalke Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 LOL - oh, yes. Incredible game. Lucas_From_Hell Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 Unbelievable. Arrivederci, Azzurra... :bye_3: Well, congratulations, Slovakia. You deserve it.
Lucas_From_Hell Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 Somewhere in a living room, topol-m is grinning right now :music_whistling:
Brit_Radar_Dude Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 Darn it, I spelt Arrivederci wrong........ Never mind, you get the idea. This was always one of my favorite colourful MiG-29 skins. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Sorry Death, you lose! It was Professor Plum....
Pilotasso Posted June 25, 2010 Author Posted June 25, 2010 (edited) Congrats for japan! :cheer3nc: sorry for Denmark...:lookaround: As for Italy, it was expected. They were not serious in this world cup and let their country and fans down big time. :P Be tuned for Portugal vs Brazil this afternoon. We shall see if Port are as good as they seemed in the korea game. :D Looking forward for England VS Germany this weekend. That will be interesting to watch as the media is saying they will win the WC after 1 (and only so far) goal against slovenia... :D Edited June 25, 2010 by Pilotasso .
Pilotasso Posted June 25, 2010 Author Posted June 25, 2010 (edited) Reading british media and...IM VERY ANGRY!!!!! grrrrr  In the Portugal preview VS brazil, they talk about how a fragile England can beat the huge Germany team more than Portugal, which has only side notes that they could get smaked off the tournament today with a 9 goal advantage...Dream on! :P What do they know about footbal anyway? They failed to predict France and Italy failiures when the rift was out there for everyone to see. Spain has its bottom on the sling, somehow everybody speaks of it as if it already was qualified. We shall see. Another upset? remenber the insidious and treacherous Swiss... :sly: When they play we never know. They may well snatch the place from spain if it beats Honduras. While Spain have been weak, Chile has been much better. Anyone sees this? Edited June 25, 2010 by Pilotasso .

Pilotasso Posted June 25, 2010 Author Posted June 25, 2010 Ivory Coast is target practicing on North Korea Camp: 2-0. This is getting dangerous. Brazil looks better against Portugal so far, despite the momentary tie 0-0. Portugal better speed things up as it seems the 9 goal advantage is more fragile than it seems. .
Lucas_From_Hell Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 Hey Pilotasso, you better wotcha, mate :P It's being a good game, but some guys aren't playing really fair there. Pepe is being much of an asshole, for heaven's sake. The guy has commited and faked at least half of the fouls of the game, it's unbelievable. The bad side of that is that some of our players get pissed off very easily and end up falling in the trap, that's dangerous. Specially Luis Fabiano and Felipe Melo (already sacked after getting a yellow for giving Pepe some, hmm... 'tough love', let's say). I hope Queirós sacks that idiot right away. It'll be better for both teams. If he doesn't, the ref soon will :music_whistling: Both sides have to realize that the referee means serious business this time. He's not saving on yellow cards and I'm pretty sure he won't hesitate in giving a red for the first guy who tries to be "funny" on the second half. Apparently Dunga already noticed it, let's see if Carlos did so as well. Well, time's up, back to the living room :D

A reason why I dont watch games from the national league. Lots of fouls and simulations. They try do better in international games but for some old habits die hard I guess :D .
Lucas_From_Hell Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 Well, that's it :) We're through, you're through, everyone's happy :D The only remarks I have to make about this game are: 1. I can't get why Dunga didn't sack Daniel Alves. He was visibly tired since the very beginning of the second half. It's rather pointless to replace Luis Fabiano when the ball isn't getting anywhere near him. Nilmar had pretty much no chance to play in the second half as well, sadly. He did well whenever he could, though. It's clear that, without Kaká and Elano, the creative sector of the Brazilian midfield isn't the same. 2. ...but, although the offensive part wasn't brilliant, it's impossible not to congratulate the defensive sector of the team. Lúcio and Juan are just outstanding together. They really make you feel safe back there. And even when they can't stop the ball, our 'wall', A.K.A. Júlio César is still there to prevent any mishaps. 'None shall pass' :P. Well done
