There are more than one reasons why FC2 is slow.

1. Its the engine it was made for slow moving, low flying chopper not fast and high flying planes.

2. The ground objects are modeled too deeply even better than flyable planes, that was basically eye candy for mud digger Ka-50.

3. The terrain has to load slow and for a less distance for Ka-50, now the same thing has to be done for jets flying more than mac 1 at low altitudes.

Off topic: Also you might have seen that when you reach above 3000mtr you find same texture(noise) repeated all over the terrain, here too same thing, its designed for Ka-50 and has been put for Lockon. In FC1 you might have seen that forests don't disappear even at height this is because even though trees disappear there are dedicated textures to show the existence of forests.

FC2 run very smooth here ...alot faster than FC1.

...and my system isnt that good .... just win 7 , intel e8400 , 500gig wd hd , 8gig ram pc6400 , and ati hd 4850 1gig .

Using high-med settings and 1920x1080 res im getting fps over 70 almost every time.

Many things have been optimized in FC2. You can have more of the same AI or objects with less of a FPS hit. In general FC2 runs much better than FC1 for me and many others. Another reason of many it was a worthwhile upgrade.

what thats isn't good?Well than I have athlon x2 2.7GHz, 4 gigRAM, ATI 4670 so yours is far good enough also I can run many high graphic games with no stutter and even FC2 with 45fps in low settings but than too when I put some 50 tanks or 20 planes ina mission it starts stuttring.

Combatace - check your drivers, especially your SATA/Chipset drivers.

In 80% of the cases, the stutters are linked to broken/bad/old drivers.

Vista/Win7 default drivers can be quite horrible (performance wise) - go check for some updated drivers from your vendor.

I've done 1800+ live units without stutter.

No.

No.

Google "LOD". ;)

Wrong.

Terrain loads around all units on the map because the AI needs to know where it is and it makes provisions for F2, F6, F11 etc. The terrain is already there.

It is however much more detailed than in FC1 for large parts of the map.

Speaking personally: FC2 runs better on my machine than FC1 did. If you have performance issues, take Panzer's advice. (Sadly I am right now bunkered into a hotel with only a netbook so I cannot assist effectively.)

How about extremely low graphic version of FC2 and DCS:BS like flanker 1.5,

as simulation factor untouched? I want to suggest that.:music_whistling:

For me, switching to FC2 was also questionable.

I did a lot of testing with Windows 7 and FC1 / FC2.

Long story short, i have 3 whole fps more in FC2 than in FC1 in comparable graphic settings(basicly everything on high). But since FC2 has more detail and other features, from my point of view, FC2 is running smoother.
