O_Smiladon Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 S! Guys Over the past few weeks I have been on and off in the multi player part of FC2 and I notice a lot of servers there with no one in them. Granted this may be a time zone thing as I am in New Zealand, but still always clicking on the servers I find is very empty. I do notice that the 104th server does get some people in it but I get the big integrity error, and when I go to the link on their website the web site is not there? I am wondering if one of you fine squadrons could host say a newbie server. With an easy map so us new guys can navigate round or have it so we can bring up the map with icons on and have the outside views on. With a good plane set . This would make it a lot easier for the likes of me who do enjoy FC2 but cant really get into the muilt player . Smiladon [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Moa Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 stallturn is in Wellington, New Zealand. Runs the (required) VNAO mod at the moment (see the post http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=944829#post944829) for more info and has ten people online at 1300 Saturday NZST. You are welcome to join but need to join the VNAO Ventrillo server to get the game password. Hopefully this password will not be required in the future (once the superb FC2 VNAO mod is more widely distributed). The 104th server has people online in the New Zealand evening. Check the 104th forums for the Modman mod required to pass the integrity checks (restores your installation to use default config for the most part). On the (NZ) weekends just about all servers are active, since the timezone difference is less critical and the bulk of the players in the US and Europe can play later (where they overlap with us).

Sarge55 Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Hi Smiladon, I saw a server the other night which indicated it "catered" to noobs. So I think they are out there just not set up as dedicated servers which would be an additional expense to the established Sqn's. O_Smiladon Posted July 20, 2010 Author Posted July 20, 2010 S! Thanks Sarge55, Will have to keep an eye out for it.. Smiladon [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
104th_Crunch Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 (edited) An easy setting server may be a great way to people to get into FC2 and DCS. Eventually people would move on to realistic setting servers. Problem is, most those running servers now prefer realistic settings. Easy enough though to start your own online game as a host for a small number of players with easy settings and see who joins. Edited July 20, 2010 by Crunch
O_Smiladon Posted July 20, 2010 Author Posted July 20, 2010 S! Excuse my naivety here, but is there maps that you can download to host with or are there template maps that you can put up, i.e. Land based targets, air to air. Shipping even carrier landings. This is all good stuff to the new comer to learn and get to grips with. I know that there is some single mission stuff like that but nothing compares with the human element.
