Thats a rough situation, but here is how you need to think about it. The female avionics are known to go abit haywire from time to time, but they also have very strong jamming capabilities and they can easily detect the slightest hint of you stealthily having a glance at another female. If she is angry about something chances are her defense systems will be at capacity. Now I'm sure many would argue that taking an active approach to solving this problem will be the best option. Something like going online to have flowers delivered to her place of work. In most cases I would agree, but in this instance you need to take a semi-active approach a buy those flowers and take them to work yourself. With your direct input this allows you to get up close to help weaken her defenses where she is most vulnerable. Now there is also the worry that when you go to deliver the flowers she went out with a friend to lunch, in this event you must resort to visual scanning, asking co-workers where she is, and checking Electronic Online Systems such as Facebook, Twitter, or her blog for an idea where she might be. With some luck she might pop up on the grid someplace close. This is where things get tricky, you can't exactly call her and ask her to lunch since she is already gone to lunch with a friend, and by asking around the office she can easily be informed of your presence by a co-workers text message. Your best bet is to try to position yourself so you intercept her while you are walking toward her workplace as she is walking in or away from it. So you'll certainly have to put the burners on and get someplace quickly in order to pull this off. With some luck and timing you can pull off a welcome surprise for her and she won't be giving you that evil look any more.

Well, I don't have a sister, but if I did, I'm sure her butt would itch (if genetics factor in). [Hey, you brought it up...]

As for the girlfriend... I seem to recall that you have some challenging circumstances (ie. working overseas, and a child), so if she is working with you on that, she's probably a "keeper". The Grimes Solution might be in order.

[/rant on]

As for guys with girlfriends of lesser substance... some of them should probably consider trading in for a different model. To each their own though. Me, I have a low tolerance for unnecessary BS (which definitely includes the "silent treatment with dirty looks"). If I did something wrong, then state the offense and be prepared to justify your position. Frequently, the silent treatment is just a lame avoidance of dealing with the real issues, and often it is because they know they don't have a leg to stand on... so they resort to a different power play (witholding affection). In the long run, you're generally a lot better off if you don't reward that sort of behavior (aka "nip it in the bud").

As for the silent treatment / witholding, that works both ways. If she wants to go that route, then you can always accomodate her by being indifferent. Most likely, that will bug the crap out of her, since: 1. Her power play isn't working. 2. She wants something that she isn't getting. If she then lays the ol' "You don't care about me/us" line on you, you simply explain that you care about her/us, but that you don't wish to play games with your relationship. If she's ready to talk, you're ready to talk. [Otherwise, she can go back to her self-imposed 'timeout box' wherever that is]. You may wish to phrase things a bit differently, but you get my drift. The main objective here isn't your immediate gratification (aka 'getting some') but rather building a better long term relationship where you don't have to play games.

Are we having fun yet?

Leafer, I hope you're having a better day by now.

Light her up with S300, launch multiple missiles.

If she runs away, she's probably startled and it tells you nothing about her intentions, but she will successfuly evade ... until she enters the threat range again (possibly better prepared!)

If she flails around like a n00b, and likely gets shot down, she was being petty. Up to you how you want to handle it. (Caveat: She may just have been inexperienced/unprepared)

If she starts dodging left and right, she's ready and she thinks she has a point. Might be a good idea to listen! If you shoot her down, hopefuly she'll come down on her parachute instead of running away ;)

If she goes SEAD/DEAD on you, she's well prepared and the game is on! You'll have to work to find out what the beef is!

Either way, the point is, engagement is necessary for communication and if she isn't being silly, she's hinting at you to start communicating. But you need to draw some lines, too ...

Btw, my gf is not talking to me for some reason and if I went to talk to her one of two things will likely occur. 1. She'd swiftly turn her six on me and I'd end up staring blankly at her ponytail for however long the punishment seems fit to the crime I may or may not have committed and god forbid if I decided to get up and leave the room first... 2. She'd give me the look as if a penis is slowly erecting out of my forehead and lord have mercy if I did not choose my words carefully...

Gonna have to issue a wow card for you, CyBerkut. My daughter and I are in a much better place than we were before. It was a wonderful surprise that you remembered, thank you. :) As for my girlfriend, women will be women, a little maintenance every now and then goes a long way. Plus, she's a keeper.

Ah hell...I was gonna hold out til I have something to show. Well, I decided to turn my screenplays into an on-line, free of charge, comic kinda deal. I started drawing characters and hopefully will crank out something decent looking - so far not so good. :D Hey, I'm no artist.

GG, You got me imagining how most of your dates reacted after you introduced yourself. "Hi, my name is GG and I'm here to Tharos you." :D

2. what's the best book(s) you've read in recent years - non air combat related - something truly scary would be great.

I wish I could say the same for myself.:D

But you kinda have to read when you're in college.:music_whistling:

I'm a sophomore in an aerospace engineering program, but I've finished my Physics classes already. My only formal, real-world flying education is a student certificate that has expired. I got to the solo cross-country phase, then college got in the way. Damn college!:D

Anyway, I've read extensively about flying since I was little, even before I got my first sim, FS98, 10 years ago.

On number 1... Eve Online. Warning: It will suck you in and eat you alive if you allow it to. The 'universe' that the authors have created is extensive, way beyond anything I could adequately describe in a short message. It is very well designed to keep you involved, and to keep you *wanting* to stay involved.

Other games that came up short in my opinion... Supreme Commander 2: Well programmed, and different enough from Supreme Commander and SC: Forged Alliance to justify the new version. Great graphics, etc. However, they have no provision for community created maps or mods. Community created maps and mods gave Supreme Commander and SC: Forged Alliance an extended life and new playability that the newer SC2 does not have. It's a shame, really. Also, with SC and SC:FA, you could setup a privately hosted multiplayer game between friends using Hamachi (if you wanted to use an alternative to default multiplayer system). With Supreme Commander 2, you're on Steam. As far as I know, you remain locked into that. Command & Conquer 4 was a big disappointment to me. I didn't like the new approach, although I'm sure many others did.

As for the second question... I'll ponder that some more, but a recommendation doesn't come to mind immediately. The only scary stuff I've read lately has to do with economics and politics here in the U.S. ... :(

I get my political fix from kpfk.org and democracynow.org so I'm always scared. Been scared since early 2000. Kpfk had unembedded reporters in the heart of Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom and they reported it live for the first hours of the air raid. These guys had setup right across the street from, I think, the Iraqi DOD and man, the sound of bombs exploding was surreal. I can't even describe it. After they were deported by the authority, they were bombed on their ride out. It was crazy. Surreal.
