So, my newest issue of PC Gamer showed up with a hands on of DCS A-10. Seems all is looking really good to the writer. With the mention both from Wags and from the article of a 2010 release, I was wondering if there was any word on the target date?

I'd write 'dull gaming code' any time of the year if I could! ;);)

Was that a UK or US issue? Wouldn't mind a read of that...

Usually statements like those mean sometime in the 4th quarter. Im in no way suggesting what ED intends to do, but most companies that say that typically release in the November timeframe to get the Christmas sales. Of course, if the sim isnt done its not gonna get released. IMO, from the sounds of what still needs to be completed, there is still a lot of work left and Im not holding my breath. Someone mentioned DX11 causing problems, many of the pics are 'WIP' suggesting the end product may be different, and a lot of features still seem to be unknown. Or at least they arent telling us. Already being mid September, a lot of work would have to be crammed in a short period to make a 2010 release.

Ah yes, PCG. The magazine that exemplifies all that has gone horribly wrong with pc gaming/simming.

Is it worth reading though?

It's not much more than we already know. Pretty much it was the whole sim column. The writer apparently has one of the Beta builds and says that so far it's every thing he expected from DCS/ED. That's the whole thing in a nutshell.

Well, whit some luck a lil bit earlier.

I mean, who wants to be writing dull gaming code during X-mas?:music_whistling:

It depends on which X-mas you are talking about. :smilewink:

Also he likes it more than BS because you are flying a US aircraft this time around.

Sounds like a good reason to prefer a fixed-wing sim over a rotor sim... /FACEPALM...

...well someone has to move the mud!!!

I have checked the Sept and Oct 2010 issues and see nothing about this.

Nothing weird in liking and preferring the hardware produced in one's own country. I'm not exactly a nationalist or patriot myself, but I still have a very strong emotional attachement to the hardware that my country has produced. (Even if it is kinda crappy in some respects.)

Emotional attachements matter, even though we often pretend they don't. ;)

You are correct. I like BS but being from Canada I just couldn't get into the Russian helo; no offence, but I'm use to American/Canadian built equipment, so I'm very eager to try the A10.
