Pay attention to the grip location and the amount of movement compared to what the Aircraft does. amazingly the YouTube link works

CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.

That may depend on how the curves and dead zone are set on each person's stick. I had my cougar set up fairly close to what the video shows. I disagree with simmers that say set the stick up with what fees comfortable to you.I think one should set it up with what reflect the actual response of the Aircraft. Then learn to effectively employ good technique.

Nice video but I'm glad I have way better graphics in DCS. The gun bullets look like Star Wars blasters

Thanks a bit pricey but I will have three correct pull switches for the pit. Now to get the A-10C glare shield built. possibly after Christmas.

I picked up some blank cover plates some of the Dzus were bad so I removed them the plates are now sanded primed with an acid etching primer and repainted Ultra Flat Black Krylon camouflage ( my flat black of choice)

Working on an RWR I have a couple of real ones but ran in to some simulator models with face for possibly a Greece Electronic Warfare System reference http://www.xflight.de/

The units are CRTs so I figured they more than likely are still functional and can be rotated to make this work.

So I am in the process of getting the cables worked out.

I remade the bezel for the IP-1310/ ALR and had Shapeways

print it up my first model with them and I am very happy with it I could have used a larger font I was not sure if they when from the outside or inside of the font. Inside is how it turned out.

I am not sure how I will paint the units just fill the engraved font and arrows or spray with white fill the areas with clay and respray with flat black.

Here is a pick with a before and after the new bezel I am really impressed with Shapeways finish and price. The second pic is next to a real bezel.

I still need to make a decal of the lens graphic and have several made to finish off the change but I am sure it will work out.

You will notice the lay out has been rotated 90 degrees

counter clock wise to get the INT knob in the correct orientation.

The mounting screws are located where the real arrows go but using black socket screws I don't think it will be noticeable.

  • 1 month later...

working with office chairs, i have found them way too high for pedals. im in the process of raising my pedals high so that my legs are more straight without having to have pressure on my hamstrings to reach my foot onto the pedals.

QUESTION, HOW HIGH IS THE HEIGHT OF THE BASE OF THE PEDALS TO THE TOP OF THE SEAT CUSHION OF WHICH YOU SIT ON THE A10?

i think i saw a blueprint of the a cessna having the height of 10" between, where as my office chair is a whopping 18" from the top of the seat cushion to the ground...

The top of the seat is 15 inches to the floor the way I have my ACES II set up the bottom of the pedals are 2 inches from the floor. this is comfortable for me at 6'3" and 210 lb.
