I know the game doesnt run direct 11, is there a file I can look at to see what version of directx is being enabled on game start. I ran the updater, tried windows compatability modes and still no in game sound just GUI sounds. I am using headphones off the soundcard which shouldnt make a differnce cause I still get audio in the GUI. Im stumped ...

I have no wingman, awacs etc voice sounds. Are they not added yet. Sorry if this has been answered but I cannot find the answer!

Same here.

Other sounds work fine (and sound excellent!) but no radio voices.

Same problem as Lawyer237 and Para Bellum.

Other sounds work fine. I have used the web update for DX

Are you absolutely positive you updated your DX9 library and not DX11?

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.

No I'm not sure. I used the Runtime Web installer that was posted earlier in this thread. When I run it again it says I'm up to date. Is there another way to update the DX9 stuff lay it on me.

What is this audio after the Maverick is launched...

Simple answer seems to be the AoA horn...since you can hear the pilot pulling G's

However, could it be some tone from the missile?

I have a similar sound issue to others mentioned here.... so far I have noted that the Gau-8 doesn't sound anything like what others have shown on Yotube, it sounds more like something from an 80's arcade game. Neither of the VHF radios need Squelching when I turn them on and Im not hearing any ATC voices, the text is their but no sound.

I have tried updating DX9 as per link provided but this does not change anything.

Computer recordings might not be accurate; but I don't know what it really sounds like. I assume they've done some research, as it's a pretty important part of the experience. I like how it sounds, personally. Problem with sounds though is I have no idea whether you hear the same thing I do!

Most of the voices aren't implemented in this beta so you'll only get text. This covers just about all the 'automated' messages, i.e. ATC, wingmen and other flights, JTAC, ... Edited by nomdeplume

Does this mean we should hear raido calls?

no radio transmissions here either. at leas for tower atc stuff like startup, taxi, takeoff, inbound, landing, the text does appear though. i think this is not yet implemented, JTAC seems to be talkative though, like in the last training video posted today.

Link didn't work for me but this did http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_-6oAHw-kQ&vq

Excellent work as usual Diveplane, but it would be a good idea to wait for release before distributing this, just in case it starts causing problems during testing, however unlikely that may be.

thx for the fix corrected

yep mod will be avalible when game is launched.

Dive , does this load with modman... I only ask because i m not getting any stock in game sound and will try your pack to see if the will kick my files in the pants. I get gui sounds but nothing in game and so far nothing has worked to fix it... so I have nothing to lose in trying

hi all

how about sounds of retracting/extracting flaps, airbrakes and landing gear which seem to be missing ... .?

those mechanisms are usually powered by noisy electrical engines. unless this was intentional and they are not audible at all in the cockpit.. But i strongly doubt on that.

yet so far its not a big deal, but having those would be even better! ;o)

cheers

It's a beta.
