I'm wondering how the FPS is for everyone who is running the beta? Any problems or difficulties? I know that its in the beta stage and unoptimized, but I can't wait any longer.

And while I'm at it, how well will my Core 2 Duo 2.1 GHz, 9800M GS 512MB, 4 GB RAM, run it? BS runs flawlessly on it (while BS and WH are different its a starting point).

My first impression of fps are very reasonable, and since it is not optimized. I have no issues running it at high graphics even in the mud..

The game looks great even if in a beta state. I love the feel of it and the gun sounds, omg it really sounds like the real thing, at least from what I remember when I happen to see them during a live fire in Korea. I will see if I can post a screen or two tonight when I get home from work.

I've got a Q9550@3.4 with a stock GTX 260... Running TrackIR... I installed on a separate drive, and defragged using O&O defrag and I'm getting incredible FPS... Very pleased.

I must be doing something wrong since I am getting choppy frames even at medium settings!

depending on where I am, between 8 to 13 FPS with all settings maxed, FPS gets lower if I go lower (grass and bushes). AMD Phenom X4 920 @2.8 GHz, overclocked to 3GHz, Radeon HD5850, 8 gigs RAM. I've never been able to get the FPS I "should" have on any game, it's rather dissappointing :(

Looks like your card is 512 Mb video memory, min requirements for the game is 512 Mb video memory. While your processor is great, your card is like $90 on newegg. Maybe A-10C is more demanding on GPUs than Black Shark? One can hope. One guy in the 16th DLed the beta, has only a 256 Mb video memory card and it didn't even run. He seemed to meet all the other specs.

I'm getting 20-50 FPS, and averaging about 30FPS. It's hard to say though, have not flown any intense missions. Wonder what a cluster bomb would do to my FPS..hehe. I have everything on high settings, with AAx4 I believe.

Considering I'm using an almost 4 year old CPU, I'm very happy.

Ya, this is about whats happening to me as well with these settings.

Its actually not too horrible on my system for being in beta and unoptimized considering my computer is aging quickly. I get around 20-30fps when there are not a lot of units/action and it dips to 10 or lower for a few moments when the S hits the F.

Considering in DCS Blackshark I get those frame rates as well.

I'm using a AMD Phenom II 720 BE 3-core 2.8Ghz with the cpu unlocked to 4 cores running at 3.0Ghz, GTX 260 512mb, 4gig ram, Win XP.

Question for those who may know,Has the Beta been optomized for Multi-core?
The beta has'nt been optimized at all...

Im running it on a E8400 3ghz, GeForce 9800GTX (which is the next thing Im going to replace) and 4gb RAM, and its running fairly well with pretty much everything set to high. HDR kills my FPS though, so guess Ill have to wait until I get a new video card to use that.

Well, my config is C2D e6600 @ 3200Mhz, 4Gb RAM, HD Radeon 5870 and running windows Vista 64bits.

I tried with the settings all maxed out @ 1680x1050.

When flying above water, it's a real charm. But above landscape... It is choppy. (10 - 20fps)

But what a simulation! It's THE simulation. No problem to throttle down the settings.

FPS not great on this end..it jumps around a lot, but I am having to disable SLI to get the sim to load. There is probably a response to my query about this in the beta forum, but I can't access it. :music_whistling:

I am running a Core i7 965 Extreme with dual eVGA GTX 295 video boards, via 6gb of Corsair Dominator DDR3.

The FPS is good when I first start off (60+). It drops to the single digits when the view inside the MFD/mav camera/etc start getting complex. Turning on HDR is a big hit. Other settings seem to have no impact (AA, mirrors, shadows, draw distance, clutter). But those settings may cause the MFD complexity impact to FPS become greater.

I'm going to reinstall with 32bit today so I can use my TrackIR and see if that makes a difference to FPS.

I imagine that a lot of these issues will go away once optimization occurs.

I sure hope this thread doesn't get moved to the nether-world of the mystery beta forum! I like being able to actually DISCUSS the beta!!!

around 60 usually, 20 - 60 when using TGP, explosions give me stops and stutters for a moment the first time they happen.

Going to overclock, I had the proc around 4 GHz and GTX470 goes high too.

Yeah move it when I'm DONE WITH IT!

I'm going to try purchasing it tomorrow, when I can use my university's internet :music_whistling:. I'm sure ED will appreciate the findings of a mobile gamer, I just hope it isn't completely unplayable on my system. I'll make sure to try the old tricks.

I want it for free, I want it state of the art - no wait, I want it beyond state of the art, I don't think I should pay for it and umm... there was one more thing... umm... oh yea, it should run on my 286... no, no, it should run on a Comadore 64... no, no... it needs to run on an Atari 800, no, nevermind that, I hate Atari - what were we taking about? :pilotfly:

My point is that a 9800GX2 isn't exactly a relic so I doubt it's the cause of poor FPS, even in DCS A10C.

Lower your res that should make the texturing issue better or run it on Medium textures. You could be running up agaisnt the Video card memory.

Your VC is a relic - really, take a look at the vc that have been in production since yours.

I'm just bustin' nuts... you are, and have been, a good sport. ;)

If I lower the res it will be an issue with lcd native resolution.

It definately needs to be upgraded, it is a bottleneck, but the prone-to-violence-cop-wife will snap if I drop $300 on one right now.

I see we must be about the same age....except the Atari 800 and C64 were near equivalent... I had the 800 so I take offense at the insinuation that it was inferior to the C64, when clearly the Atari 800 had a far superior color palette. :smilewink:

Ah, I remember the days when frame rate wasn't even a consideration....

If anyone is up for Pong I still have one in my closet....

Seriously though, perhaps we should wait for the final optimizations before we begin fretting about FPS.

Man. All you ever do is moan and whinge. Work on upgrading that wife first and I bet you'll be in a happier place and will save us all a lot of your online grief.

Or you can tuck away a few bucks each month and afford a GTX 460 in no time. If you wait a few months for when the new ATI cards come out, I bet you'll be able to find a lot of used cards for sale on eBay at really affordable prices.
