GBU, JDAM AND THE GANG!

My Fing ID - it sounds like you were in CCRP mode. CCIP gives you the single dashed line. I actually find it more acurate, at the moment, to lase a target and drob a GBU in CCIP mode.

With this approach I can put CCIP piper over one tank, lase the second tank to it's left (10 meter separation) and the GBU will hit the lased tank. If I try to use CCRP mode, the GBU hits short everytime when I am lined up correctly.

It's been mentioned by the dev team that the guided munitions accuracy is off right now, and will be solved soon.

I'm still working with dumb bombs, rockets and missiles right now, once I get that all mastered its off to the range for lessons on the clever kids!

GBUs with CCRP or CCIP working here with at least a 95% success rate. Dropping LGB's from 25,000 ft with the TGP. A thing of beauty :) Mavericks never miss. So, in terms of accuracy, I am not seeing anything wrong.

I use CCRP mode, finding target a good distance off, never below 12K feet, setting target as SPI, then a good run in with wings level, If I can avoid any nasty surprises (CAP, SAM or AAA) I nail the target every time.

More or less my preferred method for JDAM's aswell (Those suckers are nasty and do the ugly to any stationary target as long as you don't rush it)

Tried my first LGB drop yesterday...

To my surprise I achieved a direct hit on that tank top!:D

I followed the path of the weapon with the "F6" key. It did some strange movements during the flight. Guess this is a known bug?!

Sadly the training instructor stopped telling me what to do, so I wasnt able to deploy the JDAM's. Thought they are used just the same way as those LGB's. But they didnt want to drop...

If it was a GBU-1#, most likely what you was seeing is the way bang-bang works.

As for JDAM, see if you can get anything from this thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=58989

Welcome to the world of the Paveway II :P Their flight path is one big back and forth wobble because the guidance computer can only command full deflection of the canards in either direction (known as "bang bang" control)

Whereas the newer Paveway III's have proportional guidance, which results in a smoother flight path and expends less energy
