GunnDawg Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 I have painted the target, moved the SPI to center with the TGP (SOI) and fly over the target with my flight path marker lined up with the vertical CCRP line. I always end up just flying over the target with no HUD indications to release the weapons or anything. Here is a screenshot of my standard setup on this airbase tower. No HUD indications for bomb release, nothing :( http://tinypic.com/r/wgxrfs/7
ED Team Wags Posted October 15, 2010 ED Team Posted October 15, 2010 Please take the time to read the IAM section of the Combat Employment chapter in the manual. Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/wagmatt Twitch: wagmatt System: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3729544#post3729544

power5 Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 See the little triangles around the reticule? Those are the max min distance marks. You can release anytime between those. In your pic the unwinding hash mark scale is at about the 11 oclock position. Not sure if you have already overflown though, probably. When you line up, the min/max should spread to a wider window. Then as you close in the scale will unwind toward those two marks and when it gets between them, the HUD will change to "Man Rel" or something under where it says m/gbu38 on the left. Meaning weapon is ready for release. Hold the release till its gone and then hit F6 to watch it drop. That is from my short memory so read the chapter also. GunnDawg Posted October 15, 2010 Author Posted October 15, 2010 Thanks Power5. I have no problem getting the GBU-12's off in CCRP but these JDAMS are a bit more difficult. Will try your advice.
Arclight Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 (edited) You should see "man rel" above the left-side datablock when within launch window. It's the only indication you'll get and is easily missed. Keep the weapon release pressed a second or 2. Maybe bring up DSMS page so you can see if the weapon released. :) Edited October 15, 2010 by Arclight [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] DCS A-10C: putting the 'art' into 'warthog'. (yes, corny. Sorry.)

GunnDawg Posted October 15, 2010 Author Posted October 15, 2010 Ah finally got a JDAM off the rail and on target :)
Deadman Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010  Reading the manual does wonders https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
power5 Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Rtm helps but also confuses me more sometimes. Seems to be in different language sometimes. :) nice to get a succinct few step, easy guide, to walk through the procedure sometimes. Niehorst Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 another question on JDAM's: I expirienced that those Jay Damn's wont drop in pairs... you can program it in the DSMS but only one will fall of... Anybody else noticed that?
