Hello everyone, I have purchased DCS:A-10 Beta and consequently run out of hat switches on my X52 . So now I have to purchase TrackIR :D. I was wondering from those of you who have it, is the Track Clip Pro worth getting? It will save me about half the price if I order it at the same time.

Thanks Guys, and happy flying!:pilotfly:

get the clip

I have the hat clip, and it does the job, but I think the USB powered LED's will give a better signal. I'm updating from my TIR4 to 5 and getting the clip.

Do it.

yes. it is worth it, the clip is helpful in "bright light" conditions when used with the light filter threshold slider. it takes a little while to find the best settings for yourself but its kool once you have it sussed and can track targets by looking at them. fun.

I went a whole 3 months without one. Never had any major issues, just the occasional jump or skip but nothing game braking. The seasons changing and the sun comes into my room more and more. The hat clip still works but it wasn't precise when I needed to look down. I got the track clip pro 2 weeks ago and I can't believe the changes its made. It's so more more precise and smoother that the hat clip. I would never go back to not using it.

Just buy it now and save.

My track clip pro broke within 1 hour of use. I'd heard that they were fragile so I made absolutely certain to be careful with it.

Picked it up to play, and the part with the LED's in simply fell off. On closer inspection one of the little prongs inside had snapped off.

I used the Vector clip and weirdly, I found it infinitely more accurate in tracking. The TCP was *slightly* smoother, however totally negligibly, generally your game will have a lower frame rate than the TIR, so the's your bottleneck.

What I found was that when performing more complex movements - like looking round while over the side of the cockpit, sat up to see over the seat back, the TCP would get confused here and spin around, where the Vector clip is perfect. Personally I'm happier using the V clip, no wires, and a lifetime more durable.

I am waiting for the arrival of my TIR 5 but did not get the Clip as even Natural Point admits (on their forum) that they have a design problem and they are getting quite a few with problems as described by Ragtop.
