revalence Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Answer: No, not really. WHOA! Is that DCS A-10C??! The only noticeable similarities are the rockets fired in the beginning. Oh, and if it is, is HDR on?
JHepburn Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Nice vid! Someone needs to tighten down the mounting bracket screws for that HUD camera though...
Napa Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 It looks real. It would look a lot more real if you shake the camera little bit on high AOA and make some filter effects. GA should know exactly. But other than that, for non-users of DCS:A-10C it looks absolutely real. Ragtop Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Very good! I'd add some static noise as the rockets fire, as they'd more than likely interfere with the video. Probably encode the video in a lower quality too, the pixelation will make it look more human. Looks great! 476th vFG Alumni
kylania Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 the pixelation will make it look more human. So Minecraft is the height of humanity? :smilewink: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Christmas Cheer - A Landing Practice Mission : Beta Paint Schemes : HOTAS Keyboard Map : Bingo Fuel - A DCS A-10C Movie
Avilator Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 the pixelation will make it look more human. So Minecraft is the height of humanity? :smilewink: Apparently! :megalol::megalol: I only respond to that little mechanical voice that says "Terrain! kingneptune117 Posted November 5, 2010 Author Posted November 5, 2010 haha thanks for the feedback guys! In more recent hud tapes I have seen, even ones from T-38's (trainers) the HUD is very clear. take a look. Also...just for kicks... Ragtop Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Apparently! :megalol::megalol: Haha, I think you guys have got the wrong idea :P What I mean is when it's a sim it's rendered so perfectly, but the majority of the HUD tapes you see are of far lower quality, so when you see the sim version it looks too perfect. The pixellation/slightly off video stretch actually makes it look more like what you see from the real thing. Neptune I wasn't saying that it was bad in any way, if anything, too good! Haha, The way the video is slightly off shape really adds to that realism for me. 476th vFG Alumni
lubey Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 All you need to do is steal some actual cockpits sounds from a real a-10 hud recording from youtube with the pilot straining under g's etc and splice it into your video and noone will ever know its from DCS.
