kingneptune117 Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Is it down or up? kylania Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 HUD as SOI - TMS Forward Short: The following HOTAS functions apply when HUD is SOI: * Ground Stabilize (TMS Forward Short). Ground stabilize happens automatically after slewing as long as a position on the ground can be calculated; additionally, while the TDC is still caged within the TVV, this command will attempt to ground stabilize the TDC. If successful, the TDC will ground stabilize on that point. If unsuccessful (location > 13nm away) an "X" will be drawn over the TDC and the TDC will be HUD stabilized with an "X" indicating an invalid designation. If TMS Forward Short is selected while the TDC is HUD stabilized with an "X" drawn over it, the TDC will again attempt to establish a position on the ground. If successful, the TDC will ground stabilize; if unsuccessful, the TDC will remain HUD stabilized, with an "X" drawn over the TDC. With MAV as SOI - TMS Aft Short: Ground Stabilize. Using the ground stabilize function, the Maverick seeker can be made to track a designated point on the ground. Note that this will not track a target. When slewed off, the seeker will no longer be stabilized unless commanded with TMS Aft or Left Short. Steel Jaw Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 By looking in the manual. I realize that the Warthog is a new beast to us, and new things tend to scare and anger people ... but even aside from that, something about the way the F-16's HOTAS is set up is just nice. The A-10's HOTAS mappings feel slapped together and haphazard. andysim Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 (edited) Yea I just tried the mavs and now they are awsome. And the PAC Gun setting works much better. :megalol: Oh and Wingman now follows me without going off on his own!!. This is what ive been waiting for since the beta came out hehe. I just did some testing in Nevada with a Jtac and managed to get my wingman to engage targets while I talked to the JTAC, he didnt get lost and always did what I asked. I asked him to "Anchor here" and he waited for me to do my run in and then rejoined me and we flew home together. Edited November 1, 2010 by andysim

shawnyp420 Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 I'm having a MUCH easier time locking up Mavericks after the patch. I'm still using the TGP to acquire and designate targets. Then slave the Mavericks to SPI. Press TMS up/short (constantly clicking up to attempt lock) to lock and knock that thing off the rail!! Feels good to watch the missles fly off!! I'm getting Mav locks at around 4-5 miles now, where before I had to be right on top of them. That doesn't mean they always hit. I'm somewhere around 60%.
