Just want to know? and if any of you guys in the states plan on selling your cougars?

Keeping mine as well, the NXT mod has kept it in the game this far, and you never know when another F16 sim might come down the pike.

keeping my two Cougars as a backup and using one base whit the F16C pedals

One strange thing is that when moving the pedals all lights for the buttons in the Device Analyzer for cougar will light up!

But no problem whit the Warthog, I just remove all keystrokes for the cougar in Warthog options just leave the pedals

i think i'll sell my cougar on ebay for around 200€ (unmodded) it's nearly new.

 

is this too much?

going rate on ebay about £90 AFAIK for decent quality / boxed.

 

newer obviously worth more, just make sure you play up the "newness" in your Ad. lots of close up pics.

 

might keep hold of mine for when friends round for LAN / beer / pizza nights. they have realy crappy sticks and would crap themselves with a Cougar ;)

Im planning on keeping mine until a get an option for my RCS or ultimately have some equivalent pedals.

Then it will go to a friend who want to do a comeback at sims.

If you're in the lucky position to be able to afford or own more than one HOTAS, in my opinion there are benefits in doing so. There's a definite place for force modded Cougars, and ES/NXT modded Cougars, and they complement the Warthog in its genre nicely.

I dont think the return is the problem, you wont be able to sold your cougar for much, nothing thats really matter anyway. (especialy mine, modded, fully functional but war battered and rusty (circle of screws around the base).)

The problem i see is space / wiring. Keeping 2 hotas that size on a desk or cockpit in a practical way aint small task. I suppose in the long run warthog will win.

If keeping in memory (not the hotas one) several layer of programing for various simulations can be a pain with one hotas (and MFD), imagine with 2 hotas this gona be hell.

 

Well at least i really have that problem.

 

But i agree having elite (in kind) TM Hotas collection is really appealing.

I plan on keeping mine. Certainly for F-16 simulation the argument can be made that either NXT Cougar or stock Warthog stick is the better option, based on personal preference. Neither is force-sensing, so neither is 100% realistic. The one thing the Cougar does still get high marks for is the throttle - smooth, contoured, just like the real F-16's and with 2 rotaries to use without lifting one's hand off the throttle at all.

It wouldn t hurt me at all if the warthog is that good and that lasting.

Since it will take atleast 2 years, if not 3-4 before next DCS is seeing daylight. It won't be a problem saving up for a new HOTAS. I know it's gonna be a supersonic fighter, and it's gonna be awesome :)

 

If ED and Bohemia Interactive decided to make Arma series and DCS series online compatible. They would DOMINATE online military gaming. It would be the most awesome gaming platform ever. They can even take 20USD for the upgrade.

 

Imagine KA-50's, A-10C's, (fighter) and ground units working together. I'm getting all wet thinking about it.. ;)

Where did you got 3 to 4 years schedule ? And FF jet ?

And this kind of integration, i don t see this happening, any curretn CPU would go belly up after 1 mn at max.

Why don't you search eBay and Google shopping and determine yourself?

 

There's a used one AS-IS on eBay with rudder pedals for $117 (2 days remaining).

 

Also, Google shopping links has a NIB Cougar for $149 from Frys.

 

Most other links I've found are priced around $179-200 for a new Cougar.
