A 10 and Acheivement points

Ok say you got the A 10 installed on steam and you wander, "Will I get achievement points like in x box?" Well what kind would you expect to get.

 

here's my small list of thoughts

 

1. Perfect landing on Full realism.

2. landing on fumes

3. Killing 10,000 trucks with guns

4. performing 100 co ordinated attacks.

5. A-A refueling [if it is supported don't know much about these flight sims other than dcs blackshark]

6. Evading 10,000 sam missiles.

I got more but what do you think.

I disagree with achievements. They would only cheapen the experience. At the end of the day I regard this as a sim, rather than a game. Achievements really don't add value to games. Might as well just call them "inevitables" because you would get most achievements in most games just by playing them :/

Not able to come back to friendly territory, ending POW, after being hit for 50% of the ejecting.(minimum 25 missions)

5 tanks on the same mission guns only, HUD must be dead.

Loosing your wingman in 75% of the missions flows

Letting your wings do 75% of the job on 50% of the mission flow

Killing blue on 10% of the missions

Kentucky fried chicken:

Eating bird on 10% of the missions

I die hard:

Bringing the bird down safely 100% of the time with at least 1 engine off

I die harder:

5 succefull landing on tarmac without any engine (plane must not crah, you must be alive at the end without ejecting)

Terminator Onehundred:

completing 100% of the missions with 100% of the obj done, minimum of 100 missions.

Ghostbuster:

total of 10 attack run on already killed tank, sam etc.

Sword to plowshare:

3 Emergency landing on soft surface without totally wrecking it

The lower the better:

Ejecting below 20 feets before crashing and surviving (Must have been hit)

Ejecting below 50 feets before crashing and surviving (Must have been hit)

Ejecting below 100 feets before crashing and surviving(must have been hit)

Shake it baby:

Evading 10 sam launch without proper device (Flares/Chaff)

Personally I don't agree with achievements but it is kind of funny.

32 bit Steam isn't compatible with a 64 bit application like DCS and the way the developers made it work was to have Steam open a batch file that points to the .exe of the sim and closes. After that point Steam isn't involved and as far as it's concerned the program only ran for a couple thousand CPU cycles.

 

The basic incompatability means that there will never be logged playtime, Steam overlay or achievements.

I think what all of those who dislike the idea are forgetting that achievements would only be possible with more advanced stat tracking within the sim. Hint: More advanced stat tracking even without achievements would be a good thing.

It's a piece of cake for me ,I'll learn the Flight manual by heart if I get F18.

Over 9000:

-From less than 500 meters, climb to over 9000 meters.

 

Over 9000³:

-From less than 500 meters, achieve an altitude in excess of 9000 meters, with over 9000 lbs of fuel and over 9000 lbs of external stores, at 100% realism settings.

 

Would the above be possible, with aerial refueling at like 25k feet? Certainly wouldn't be an easy achievement :)
