How do I center the scan area of the mav/TGP?

I keep losing it somewhere.

Is it also possible to link the TGP/TAD/MAV to the same scan area?

If you wish to re-cage the Maverick seeker to its boresight position or the seeker has reached its gimbal limits, you can re-cage the seeker to boresight by pressing China Hat Aft Short.

Once you have set the SPI using the TGP, you can slave other systems like Maverick and the HUD TDC to the SPI by using the Salve All to SPI command by pressing China Hat Forward Long.

To center your SOI press China hat backward short.

To set slave your SOI to your SPI its China hat forward long.

To set SOI to be SPI its TMS forward long.

To set SPI to steerpoint its TMS backward long.

Thats from the top of my head. Someone feel free to correct me.

I just read it. Thanks for the help.

I had finally found the targets I had set up, but couldn't bring either the TGP or MAV to bear :(

RE: This topic. Can someone please tell me why when I designate a target with my TGP, mark it, then mave to SOI maverick and then presss China Hat Forward long as directed, that the TGP ends up going back to my steerpoint. Its pissing me off :(

China hat forward long says to slave all senors to the SPI regardless of what your SOI is.

China hat forward long says to slave all senors to the SPI regardless of what your SOI is.

Because your SPI was your steerpoint.

The best indicator of what sensor is determining SPI location is the HUD text in the lower-left corner. With TGP as SOI you press TMS Fwd Long to set SPI to TGP LOS. Then you can slave all weapons to SPI.

Using a mark point is unnecessary to the process unless you want to make a waypoint at the SPI for some reason.

Nope. I just checked and The China Hat forward is mapped to the China hat on my TM Hog HOTAS. Is there a different set of dependencies or settings I need to prevent this from happening?

Set SPI with TMS FWD Long. Then slave all to SPI with China Hat FWD Long.

Frederf, thanks for the feedback. I think I was misunderstanding how to set the SPI with the TGP. I thought when something was being lased with the TGP it was making it the SPI. As it wasnt, the SPI was still the steerpoint as you said.

Thanks again! +1
