Pilotasso Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 heya guys. Check this out: A hologram concert, where the singer is virtual but is on stage in full blown 3D! 7UzuCVDZSv0 hmmm but I still preffer flesh and blood hotties :D .
topol-m Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Wow is this for real? Very impressive! You are right about the "flesh and blood hotties" but imagine what this technology will be capable of 15-20 years from now. Free striptease party in your office baby :cheer3nc: and the hotties will look much like real ones not anime girls... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
104th_Crunch Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 (edited) Old news :) Really though kind of defeats the purpose of a live performance in terms of watching a virtual performer. For other effects though, very cool. Edited November 17, 2010 by Crunch
Pilotasso Posted November 17, 2010 Author Posted November 17, 2010 In 1998 during the world expo at the Japanese pavilion just behind me 2 clicks away, I saw a show where small 2D holograms representing samurai's would jump around in a miniature model of a japanese village just in front of me behind a glass. I was WOW'ed by it. But compared to this, that was the infancy of holograms. .

Ah man that will spell the end of interactive strip tease...how ironic! :D holograms are better for other things. :D .
monotwix Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Holograms without the force fields might not be as exciting any more but the cloaking devices are becoming a real science fact. Ask Loura. I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully.
Jinro Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 At this rate, in 20 years Japanese men will be marrying anime-ish holographic women. I remember a Korean guy who married a body pillow that had an anime chick painted on it......and I mean legally married.......to a f'n pillow. I also recall a Japanese man marrying a character in a game on his Nintendo DS.....
monotwix Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 About the cloaking devices it’s not a joke, I read about it in a news paper yesterday and about 6 month ago I was reading about a German guy who married his cat for ''real'' and who’s to argue that the aliens do not exist. I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully.
Frazer Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Thought I would miss my WTF moment of the day, but no, there it is.......WTF? :D Forum | Videos | DCS:BS Demo1 / Demo2 | YouTube Channel [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
monotwix Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 This is how the Big Grin came into this world. I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully.
Avilator Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 This is how the Big Grin came into this world. lolz!:D I only respond to that little mechanical voice that says "Terrain! Terrain! Pull Up! Pull Up!" Who can say what is impossible, for the dream of yesterday is the hope of today and the reality of tomorrow. -Robert Goddard "A hybrid. A car for enthusiasts of armpit hair and brown rice." -Jeremy Clarkson "I swear by my pretty floral bonet, I will end you." -Mal from Firefly
BKLronin Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 (edited) I think this is just a 2D Projection. 3D holograms are still in development and far away from this image quality. Edited November 19, 2010 by BKLronin [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
monotwix Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 May I suggest 3D glasses to view it? I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully.
