july865 Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 (edited) ty edit.. i have went into the controler setup and the gun triggers for the keyboard are not available to be mapped to the keyboard...... very odd... another suggestion? . i think i dont have it available is that i have my TM attached and the game does not make it available for the keyboard. but i did find an alternative. just use my TM gun trigger. Geskes Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 I am playing trough the revised trainings and they are very nice. I ran into something that wasnt clear to me in the navigation training. It is when the topic of desired course to steerpoint is discussed. I switch waypoint 4 to TO-TO mode and then set the course knob on the HSI to 270 as indicated on the CDU and set waypoint 4: POTI as steerpoint. What I understand from the narration is that the HSI should then point me so I fly the correct course to steerpoint. However, I was only slightly deviating from the set flightplan, but still the HSI indication was off-scale so I try to intercept to course. I tried it for about 10 minutes flying towards intercept but the indication on the HSI never changed yet the waypoint was only 30 miles away and I was close to the set flightplan when I started to "intercept" the 270 desired course. I reason that should the 270 course somehow be wrong, and I start rotating the course knob, at some point I should be on course. But this also didnt happen when rotating trough all the 360 degrees of the course selection knob for HSI. This part of the mission is not evaluated, it goes on to TACAN immediately so I cannot figure out if I am doing something wrong with regards to this desired course feature of CDU and HSI. How is this supposed to work, anyone tried it? I7920/12GBDDR3/ASUS P6T DELUXE V2/MSI GTX 960 GAMING 4G /WIN 10 Ultimate/TM HOTAS WARTHOG
goldfinger35 Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 I also find navigation (and landing-navigation part) very confusing in tutorial. Other tutorials are easy to understand. If someone could post tracks for these 2 it would help to see if (what) we are doing wrong. i7 920@4.0Ghz, 12 GB RAM, ATI 4890, LG L246WHX@1920x1200, Saitek X52 Pro, Saitek pro flight rudder pedals, TrackIR4, Audigy 2ZS, Logitech G9x, Vista 64bit.
LordWolf Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Um, i'd just like to mention that you forgot to add the Radar altitude switch into the tutorial. Took a while to figure it out, it's the switch on the autopilot pannel (I was always using "A" to start autopilot and never looked at the actual pannel)
copen Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 As mentioned by others, the countermeasures training crashes for me as well. It's definitely not a pause: it crashes to the desktop, reloading the main menu GUI. Is anyone aware of other countermeasures training missions or videos out there? Gonzo01 Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 (edited) Unguided Bombs Training Mission I notice that the TGP and Laser were set to "On" even though they are not loaded on the aircraft. Might want to set right MFCD to CDU since there is no TGP and turn off the TGP and Laser since their not being used. Also, still getting "CCRP Invalid" in the HUD when I switch to CCRP mode to drop High Drag MK-82 at the range. EvilBivol-1 It's really shaping up nicely. Keep up the good work. TwoLate Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 I downloaded the new missions and I am getting the CCRP invalid too when selecting the High Drag MK-82 in the training mission. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Gonzo01 Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 (edited) Training-Takoff and Handling Mission EvilBivol-1, Just finished testing the takeoff and handle mission. Everything went well up to the point where I completed the mission with the 360 degree turn to the left. After completing the turn, it told me nice job via both text and voice, but after a few seconds a text message appeared at the top of the screen saying: "Well Done, we will end our training flight here". I decided to land at the nearest airport when it started to warn me about my change in altitude and heading. Shouldn't it just let me take control of the jet and land if I want, without being yelled at for deviating from my assigned heading if were done? All in all the mission went well, nice work. EvilBivol-1 Posted December 3, 2010 Author Posted December 3, 2010 Yup, the instructor should be done talking after the mission is complete. I'll take a look. We'll have another round of fixes in part thanks to the feedback here. Thanks everyone again for the tests. - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. Everything takes much longer. El_Roto Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Has anyone seen the moving vehicle at the end of "Guns and Rockets"? I've flown the mission four times now (with only one Target Fixation crash :) ) and have yet to spy this target. Any help will be greatly appreciated. kylania Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 It starts to move as you first get into range, so might have finished it's movement if you aren't quick enough engaging the other targets. EvilBivol-1 Posted December 5, 2010 Author Posted December 5, 2010 Don't you get a red smoke marker on the vehicle's position when the message comes up? You should then just have to forward your view a bit in the direction of the vehicle's movement, which is clockwise around the target array. 1 - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. Migo Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 The countermeasures-traning never continues after turning to "WP 3 Range" at 8000ft/280 :( I'm using the Beta 3 missions. Are these training missions better/newer ?

JimBeamBlack Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Nwe to A10 beta question: You can download the missions here and simply unpack them into any directory of your choosing. I'm sorry if I sound like a total noob but , By saying "any directory of your choosing" does this mean any directory in the A10 folder? or any directory peroid? I have no idea how this works.
Frederf Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Eventually they have to directly overwrite the existing files. That statement just means you can unpack them to any place you want temporarily before moving the unpacked files overwriting the existing ones.
Geskes Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 (edited) The PGM training mission states: "Laser projection is stopped after the projected bomb impact time, plus the time specified by the LS TIME (laser time) value on OSB-17" However, instead of prolonging laser time after impact, it delays activation of the laser after release. Am I misinterpreting this sentence in the tutorial or is this either an error in the tutorial or an incorrectly working LS TIME function? kylania Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 You can either replace the existing ones in the training folder and run them from the Training menu or leave them all in your missions folder and run them as normal missions. JimBeamBlack Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 oh ok , so I can put them in the traning folders and let them overwrite the other files. I just wanted to be sure , don't want to have to re-install. cool thanks man , I'll do it after work tonight
