Guest ruggbutt Posted June 1, 2005 Posted June 1, 2005 ... the F-14 was a wrong example to show an F pole, along with a missile dodge like that.. taking advantages of one games netcode and flaws is not my ideal of instructional video. Lets see your instructional video then. It seems that the majority of your posts here have to do w/how superior you are or how much more advanced in all aspects of life you are than the rest of us. Are you overcompensating for something else? Either way those are valid tactics, even w/the F14/AIM54. In that particular instance in the vid the missile passed close. LOC, Shadow and I have all used those tactics to put the AIM54 at max range to avoid it even getting close. As LOC stated, in that particular instance he started the maneuver late. Would you prefer he redo the video to show how he can force the missile to detonate beyond damage range to the locked aircraft? Better yet, why don't you do it?
Pilotasso Posted June 1, 2005 Posted June 1, 2005 Look, Im am not here to start a pi$$ing contest nor judge anyones life just because what I saw in the video contradicted what I read about the phoenix lethal zone being up to 50 meters thats all. And I wasnt the only one to notice that. You can take my points or not, its up to you. But Im entitled to an opinion and surely I wont shut up if it "offends" a few people that I have a different view of the matter. Im not here in a denial crusade against anyone. .
GGTharos Posted June 1, 2005 Posted June 1, 2005 I think the video does what it's supposed to do: Instruct the viewer in how to conduct an F-Pole maneuver, and that's good. What it does not do is show you what to do when the other craft does an A/F-Pole, which is due to poor AI (which doesn't start such maneuvers to begin with) ... which is unnecessary. Some things youv'e got to learn through experience :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

Thanx ruggbut, L0csta! :) What tactic in lo-mac 1.1 can one do in the same scenario as this videoclip but with 2 F14's? met vriendelijke groet, Михель "умный, спортсмен, комсомолетс" [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] [TABLE]SPECS: i9-9900K 32gigs RAM, Geforce 2070RTX, Creative XFi Fata1ity, TIR5, Valve Index & HP Reverb, HOTAS Warthog, Logitech G933 Headset, 10Tb storage.[/TABLE]

xylem Posted June 2, 2005 Posted June 2, 2005 Guys, Please forgive my ignorance, but when I try to play this avi file in Windows Media Player I get audio but no video. Do I need some special codec? and where can I get it? Thanks... Guest ruggbutt Posted June 2, 2005 Posted June 2, 2005 Most likely you'll need the DivX codecs. http://www.divx.com
xylem Posted June 2, 2005 Posted June 2, 2005 Thanks Ruggbutt. I D/L'd the DivX Player with codec and played file on that- great video, and instructive. Just curious tho- is there any way to get Media Player to play this, or am I better off just using DivX (and having an additional application on my computer) ? Guest ruggbutt Posted June 2, 2005 Posted June 2, 2005 Right click on the movie, and choose properties. You'll have the option to choose what to open that movie with, choose WMP then apply.
xylem Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 Yep. Thanks again. Slowly becoming educated..... :) Thermaltake View 71 Snow, Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Master, i9-9900K Coffee Lake,8core,16 Thread,3.6 GHz, Corsair Vengeance Pro 64 GB, NZXT Kraken X72 AIO CPU cooler, EVGA RTX 3080 XC3 Ultra Hybrid, Win 10
